I must have read that word (DECENT) describe not only this year's expectation, but next year's expectation.

Can someone quantify the word decent in terms of conference wins thru the Big XII tournament?

I don't know about DECENT..but my expectations for this season have been met since this is a rebuilding season.

Are they playing hard til the very end? YES
Have we seen improvement in the players? YES
Are they showing heart for this program? YES

Next years expectations

NCAA TOURNAMENT = EXPECTATIONS MET
NO NCAA TOURNAMENT = FIRE CAPEL

Can you quantify your conference record thru the Big XII tournament in the poll?

I am not really sure OU has expectations right now... you can lose 8 games in a row and because you beat a 1-9 ISU team, an OSU team that is tanking, and CU you did pretty well. All of a sudden it turned into a good season.

And yet another abd facepalm.

You're not really sure OU has expectations right now? All of a sudden it turned into a good season? Stupidity knows no bounds....

I really don't understand the question. I picked 12 but honestly 10 might be decent. It would be one game above .500 which is what Capel did his second year in Big XII play. I don't want OU to consistently only win 10 games but I will be content if OU is consistently winning 10 or more games if the 10 win seasons are the below average seasons. That would be pretty consistent with the results OU got under Sampson and Tubbs.

10 is Decent, 12+ is good and where we have been historically

Next year I believe we play 18 conference games... is that not correct. With that I would have to go 12.

I thought ISU was better than OU heading into the season, so didn't OU exceed preseason expectations with that win in Ames?

The only win that probably exceeds expectation is really Baylor. ISU had one conference win going in and is now the worst team in the conference. All that says we are better than the worst team in the conference. Tech is probably the worst team in the south. We should have expected a win there. Colorado has tanked pretty much since that game. It's a decent win but not a mindblowing win. The only win this year I would put at the unexpected level was probably the Baylor game. And even Baylor has been inconsistent this year. They probably have the most talent in the Big 12 but they are young, and like most Scott Drew teams not well coached.

Really, after being picked 11th in the big 12 and struggling all non conference only Baylor was above expectations?

Wasn't CU 3-1 at the time OU defeated them? Did anyone see that coming? Couple of all Big 12 type guards playing for them right? Oh wait it was just the force on why we won that one, sorry Capel it was all Obi Wan and not you.

All fall all we heard from Abd was how ISU was going to be better than OU because of the NIU transfer, Ejim, etc? So the win in Ames is what was expected for this team?

Heck even heading into the season Tech was thought to be head and shoulders above OU with their group of Seniors.

I know it might not be pretty, it might not be right considering how good OU has been in the past but considering how many of us were calling 1-2 win seasons the whole run exceeded expectations.

As much as Capel gets blamed on here for multitude of things with most of them being justified can't he get an exceed expectations mark for the little four game win streak? Just like he will get crucified if OU loses out these final seven games, lets at least be consistent in both praise and criticism.

you are absolutely right and i forgot about that in my original post

I know losing to Nebraska sucks....but they are a good team. They beat the same USC team that beat Tex. They've only had 2 losses that were blow outs...and they only lost by 3 to KU in their 1st meeting.

Colorado is a good win...they have a good team this year led by their lottery pick guard.
And even though Texas Tech has underachieved this year by a wide margin...I still believe beating them may not be a quality win but more of a solid win b/c they are a team that could challenge several teams.
