Devonte Robinson, 6'7 Dallas Madison 2013, Potential Commit

~I guess I'm weird but I wasn't at all impressed with his athleticism in that video, particularly for someone 6'7" with his body type. He looks like a gather jumper...slow off the floor, plus it looks like he's just clearing the rim on most of the clips. Honestly, he doesn't look terribly athletic to me.
~I hate to judge anyone on this stuff, but it seems to be a decent indicator with these guys a lot of the time...his Twitter feed is a trainwreck. I just don't get it. But like I said, I trust Kroog...he knows what he's doing a hell of a lot better than I do. I just don't see this kid being an impact player.

Good points. Guess we'll all have to trust Kruger on this one. Assuming there is something to Robinson's tweet, he must have a reason to offer this kid.

His TexasHoops (rivals) one is misspelled.

He's a good but not great athlete in regards to the freak athletes you see playing college basketball. Frankly, there are so many impressive athletes in the Dallas area, that area is so loaded right now, that he seems kinda normal. Was watching some of Arlington Seguin a few weeks ago and the Greg Wesley kid and another big they had looked just as athletic if not more than Robinson.

I'm guessing that he might be re-classifying for 2014.

This is a type of kid I see Travis Ford going after. Might be good by his 4th year but will likely transfer before then. Cant quite pinpoint what makes him look so goofy.

He looks fairly athletic to me. He threw one down with his left hand. His head appears to be at the rim in a couple of those dunks. Some of that may be the camera angle but he seemed to have a pretty big vertical.

My biggest concern is can he play on the floor or the perimeter. If he could be a wing, he would be amazing but I don't think he has the skills based on what is written in this thread.

I also worry when you see a 6'7" guy with a bunch of dunks that perhaps he doesn't have any moved when he is not wide opne to dunk the balll. If he has two solid moves against a defender with that athletic ability, he could be really good. For example, if he has a little hook shot from 10 feet, a drrop step and a fadeway that he can consistently convert, how do you stop him?

meh. 6'7" means he's probably 6'5". His arms looked kinda long, but with his frame he'd be undersized in the paint.

I wish someone would provide these people with some better guidance as to what should be included in these videos. I have no idea about his overall speed, about his first step, his handles, about his hands, court vision, fundamentals on D etc...

All I see is that if he has the ball in the right spot with enough steps he can jump high enough to slam it. And they thought enough of that inherited trait to show it 18 times.

Hard to judge his game other than he has hops and looks pretty quick. Just showing dunks doesn't give you much to go on.

Seen Robinson play twice, not impressed and don't think he will make OU better in the next 2-3 years.

Eddie Radosovich from rivals also said there seems to be some ways to go with his recruitment. Not sure he had an actual offer
