Dominique Elliott Commits to Oklahoma per his Twitter Account

Nice!! Welcome to OU, Dominique!

He played on a competitive JUCO and put up good rebounding stats.

Hope he pans out. Doesn't look like he was very highly recruited coming out of HS.

Our juco success lately has been horrid.. Got fingers crossed on this

I have a gut feeling this means no more Henry.

I know they don't necessarily project to play the same positions (though they might), but I don't think OU offers a JUCO this early if it would leave us with just one open scholarship (with the other three taken by Woodard, Henry, Elliott).

Time will tell I guess.

haha, Henry is not making it to campus. If you can't qualify twice, then you just need to go down another path if you're OU.

I am not geeked about recruiting. This guy may end up decent, but it doesn't seem OU is bringing in anyone that projects as a college star.

No one in MU's 2008 signing class really projected as a college star.

Those guys formed the foundation of a 30-win team.

Give Elliott a chance.

Not particularly about Elliott, but Kruger hasn't brought in a recruit this year that has gotten me excited about the future. I like Heild and am excited about Amathe.

And I'll beg to differ about Mizzou. I was excited about Pressey and Dixon when they were OU recruits. Even Ricardo Ratcliffe.

I am pretty excited about both Woodard and Hammond. I don't enough about Elliot to get excited, yet.

Amath on twitter a few minutes ago (do you think he reads this board?):

Sooner fans should be thrilled. Our coaching staff is doing great building this team and setting up this program for success!

Grooms one minute later:

All of the new additions to the sooner family should make sooner fans extremely happy

I spoke with someone that I trust regarding recruiting and he said that Elliott is a lot like Spangler - very hard-nosed on the glass and loves to battle. Recently dropped some weight and is hungry to improve.

Kruger knows his guys and who he wants. His past success gives me no reason to doubt him in building a program.

Let's grab a scoring big and call it a day!

You assuming Henry will end up at OU, or do you want to simply hold onto that 4th open scholarship?

I'd like to see us land a scoring big and a true 2/3 guy. Even if the 2/3 guy is raw. We were in on a lot of guards that could score the ball at one time.

Pressey, Dixon and Ratliffe weren't in the 2008 class. I agree about those three coming in (especially Pressey and Ratliffe; Dixon was rated almost exactly where Jordan Woodard currently is). But my point is that you don't need to land paper stars in every class. Sometimes guys outplay their ranking (see: Marcus Denmon), and as long as you land a couple stars in subsequent classes, you'll be fine.

This is the type of mentality that got Capel in trouble. I would rather have good ball players who work, play hard and know their role instead of players like TMG and Tiny Gallon who think they are stars.

Amen! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese, no more "stars" like TMG and Tiny Gallon.
