Everyone think he will play much better tonight?

Changing from an inside player to an outside player is a challenge. It may take weeks more before he gets comfortable.

I hope so, but I think he is out of position. He really should be playing the 4 and if we need another perimeter guy, play Manek there.

bah!

Agreed. He has terrible handles the outside is a terrible spot for him. He needs to be an under the rim hustling 4 man. Otherwise he's unplayable to me imo

He was never a good finisher inside

I think I like him better at the 3

What I like best is Odomes off the bench

I think the best 3 guards will be (at some point this year),

Aaron Calixte
Jamal Bieniemy
Christian James

with

Rashard Odomes
Miles Reynolds; rotating in

and the post

Jamuni McNeace/Kristian Doolittle
Brady Manek

with

Kur Kuath
Matt Freeman; rotating in

I can see Doolittle being better (at the post) than McNeace in some games too!

My guess is Bieniemy’s role gets reduced come January. But they want him ready for next year.

I see it playing out...
1 Calixte
1/2 Reynolds
2/3 James
3 Odomes
3/4 Doolittle
4 Manek
4/5 Kuath
5 McNeace
... as our 8-man

Bieniemy, Freeman for depth

Polla, Lazenby for emergency/mop

Doolittle should be banging in the paint. He doesn’t have the handles or lateral quickness to play on the perimeter. He has the strength and body to bang in the paint, rebound and get put backs.

That’s if he comes back from the concession stand in the second half.

If he plays like he did tonight, his minutes will only go UP.

I couldn’t agree more. I loved the way Bieniemy played tonight! 8 points, 5 steals, 4 assists and only 1 turnover. Not bad for a freshman in his second college game.

His close range shooting percentage has been terrible his first 2 years. Poor touch finishing

Not tonight. 8 points and 11 rebounds is a very good game. He was solid on defense too.

He can work on that and improve. If he is going to help us, He needs to use that frame to muscle rebounds and get put backs. If he’s spending too much time on the perimeter, that’s not going to benefit this team.

He played well tonight.

Perhaps I’m putting too much stock in his career 3-point percentage

High percentage but obviously doesn’t want to shoot a lot of them
