I'm hearing from a source I trust that Kristian won't be part of the team the first semester. If I didn't believe what I was told is true, I wouldn't post it on this board.

And just when I thought this would be the deepest team we have seen in sometime! :facepalm

Wow That is why he did not play a lot.
I wonder if this is academic or discipline related?

Wow.. That's crazy news. Hope he figures out what he's got going on. He's gonna be a great player

I'm hearing it's grades, so maybe he can make it back by the second semester. I'm sure we'll know more in the next few days.

I just hate it for the team, but especially for Kristian. By all accounts he is a great kid!

If true, it's a setback but not a calamity. The team will still have him for conference play and the postseason. This probably explains why he was in the doghouse.

That's not good. Hopefully this isn't permanent if true and he gets back. He's going to be special.

Unreal! How can you become ineligible with all the academic support they have? Sheesh. Well alright...

TY
McGusty
Odomes
Manek
Lattin

Shep
CJ
Freeman
Muni

This vaults Matt Freeman into mucho more minutes and now Manek better be a "maniac" on the boards.

If he's ineligible can he practice? If he can't, basically kiss his year goodbye. He'll be too rusty to make a difference. There's your redshirt boys!

Maybe if true he should have stayed home and worked on his grades.

nah. once in a lifetime trip. that is true education.

grade issues explains a lot. they'll just have to roll with it. maybe someone really steps up big as a result!!

well shoot.

Hopefully he gets it together and the extra PT for Manek proves invaluable come conference time when he gets back

No, he can't practice. He's not enrolled at OU.

I assume he will go the juco route to become eligible. Hopefully he can make it back for second semester. I just don't know if he could become eligible as soon as finals are over and grades are posted in mid-December..... which would be the case if we're enrolled at OU. Worst case is he couldn't start practicing and playing the day classes begin in early January.

wow. hate to say this, but wouldn't be surprised if we never see him again

so we lost our best rebounder, one of our most efficient 3pt shooters, our only true PF on roster, and 2nd returning leading scorer in league play....great

This. Terrible. Dude can't make the grades in freshman level classes, with the help available to him via the athletic dpmt?

Means more time for Manek and Freeman for sure. But probably means we go small with either James or Odomes playing the 4 more often too. Wouldn't surprise me to see Young, McGusty, James, Odomes, and Lattin/McNeace on the floor to end some games.

Go small ball....

PG: Trae Young/Jordan Shepherd
SG: Christian James/Ty Lazenby
SG: Kameron McGusty/Brady Manek
PF: Rashard Odomes/Manek/Freeman
C: Khadeem Lattin/Jamuni/Polla
