Doolittle

SMall ball should be our starting line-up if we really lose Doolittle. I think Odomes would survive and be just fine in big 12 play at the 4. This makes me nervous for our non conference though. We could lose 3-5 more games now which would really hurt our chances of making the tournament. Freeman better be ready to play a bunch of minutes now!

wow. hate to say this, but wouldn't be surprised if we never see him again

This won't happen. He will be back in December--the staff is counting on it. The kid made a dumb decision academically, but they fully expect him back and producing in December. Wichita State game should be the mark.

Thanks Postman. I hope for his sake he makes it back. He seemed happy at OU and has a very bright future.

Where is he actually enrolled in the fall?

Wow! How can you let that happen? You're a freshman starting at a major D1 program, you honestly just have to show up.

highly doubt it. If he has to go the Juco route, he won't have his grades back to enroll at OU I wouldn't think.

And it allegedly wasn't just one dumb decision...it was a whole year's worth apparently

I always thought he looked a little defeated or slouchy...atleast from the TV

This. Terrible. Dude can't make the grades in freshman level classes, with the help available to him via the athletic dpmt?

Lots of very capable students bomb out their freshman years. There are so many distractions and they're away from home and on their own for the first time.

It's very disappointing, but there's nothing to suggest he can't make the grades, just that he didn't make them. Hopefully, this will serve as his wake-up call and he will take care of academic business from here on out.

Good news, Postman! Losing a likely starter at the four is not the way I want to start the season. If Kristian gets his act together academically, he'll miss an exhibition game, eight non-conference games, and be back as you pointed out for the WSU game on December the 16th. He will be missed. But, it's not like this team is void of others players who are capable of filling in the gap while he's gone.

Will he enroll at OU?

Unless you live around Norman, or attended college in the last few years, I'm not sure you can grasp the sheer tonnage of assistance these guys get to stay eligible. Barking seals and feces-flinging orangutans could pass the classes in question by doing little more than showing up and staying awake.

I could never be a college coach. Way too maddening.

a RS year for him would not be the worst thing in the world .. manek is a legit PF and is going to be very very good

Nah he needs to play this year. He's too good to redshirt. If he can't make it back by December id honestly rather move on

The worst part of message boards is people making claims and wild assumptions about things they do not understand or know about. Kristian will NOT need to acquire credits/attend JUCO. He will be back in December, and will be eligible immediately.

Bad decision by the kid, but easily recoverable. Don't fool yourselves--this team desperately needs Doolittle on the floor. Both short and long-term. Manek has been solid, but no one on the team can provide what Kristian provides when he is on the floor. Those things are simply not replaced. Hopefully, he makes better decisions moving forward, and from what I hear--he will.

+1. Exactly. There's more to life than some of you wanting a dream team. College is not for everyone, and many students do poorly their first year, right the ship, and even go on to graduate school.

Good grief! Stop patting yourself on the back for making a wild guess. You also said James would be leaving, ahead of Doolittle I might add. You were wrong on that one and you could still strike out on Doolittle. He's not gone yet.
I said "could be one" never said he was gone, not patting myself just showing how fast things can change when dealing with young people..

In that post you were claiming he was leaving, as if by his own volition. That's not what is happening. So what you linked to was a post of you being wrong. Odd.

Nope...go back and read it again..I clearly said "if any"..Doesn't really matter to me..think what you want. Doolittle no different from anyone else..break rules, don't make the grades..take what ever punishment OU/Lon feels that's needed.

Just stop. You're a troll – nothing more, nothing less. SoonerBounce stated it very succinctly.
