ESPN: Big 12 to review calls in Kansas' win

any video of the play where they incorrectly gave the foul to someone besides withy

Then why did they call the foul on the Iowa State player on the floor just a few seconds later?

Good point.

Believe me, that was a blown call that everyone here could agree on.

Young never even touched the guy, and the replays clearly showed that. The replays also showed that Withey was the one who fouled him. Withey knew he had picked up his fifth foul. He was walking dejectedly toward the KU bench, until Bill Self motioned for him to stay on the floor. Musberger and Frascilla had a lot to say about the call and the no call at the end. None of it good.

I understand the frustration some people have with the "let the players decide the game" guideline, but fans need to realize there is always two sides to that coin.

On the other hand, not calling an obvious foul at the end of a game would be "the reffs
affecting the outcome of the game" which is the opposite of "letting the players decide the game".

LOL @ that idiot kid crying. Nice parenting. Get used to it kid. Iowa sucks at everything unless you are one of the 20 wrassling fans in the world.

The Big XII will say the truth, that the calls, while close, were accurate.

I really hope for your sake that you are just a troll... because if not, you are easily one of the biggest idiots on the internet... and, that's HARD to do... lol

Boca is not a troll, he's a pot stirrer who enjoys getting people riled up.

This thing is kind of silly to me. At least at this point..

I've been watching basketball since the early 90's.

I've seen the charge no call at the end of a game probably 150 times.

I've seen the general no call at the end of the game probable 1000 times.

I've seen refs purposefully give the wrong guy a foul so the best player could stay in probably 2000 times.

The only difference appears to be that cry baby ISU lost at home.

ESPN was mad cuzz they wanted another upset and court storming.

Agreed. The idea of "letting the players decide the game" doesn't make sense.

Who knows, it was a foul too. I have a theory on why the block/charge wasn't called, basically referee mechanics...but it wouldn't help for this discussion and wouldn't make the situation as it occurred correct.

...and it was KU.

I'm sure ISU fans feel a lot better now! [where is that sarcasm Emoticon when you need it?]

What's truly sad is that none of those officials will be penalilzed for the mistakes they made. Despite what Curtis Shaw said, I think we all know that they'll work just as many Big 12 games next year, and announcers like Dick Vitale will still be calling Whitehead and O'Neill the "best officials in America."

That remains to be seen, just have to see who gets assigned what going forward (i.e. tournaments and next year). The referee assignments are set for the rest of the regular season. Sometimes, however, refs will get pulled/replaced at the last minute.
