Finally it's over

and actually I'm glad. We've all twisted, strained, used all of our body english and yelled at the screen to no avail. A bad year for our women's basketball team and no one knows why. I see no purpose in blaming individual players and the one thing I do know for sure is that not one of us fans have the slightest clue why the team didnt do much better.
The consensus seems to be that coaching changes are needed. I strongly agree. As loyal as Stoops is, he did it and so should Sherri.

Coaching/recruiting got us where we are today and only coaching/recruiting will get us back up to a top ten program.

I completely agree with your first paragraph. This team under achieved all year.

My only disagreement with the last paragraph is that as fans, we just know we don't like the final result. Most of us don't really know enough about individual coaches to know whether they should be replaced or not. We lose more games than we like, so our knee jerk reaction of to scream for the heads of coaches. Similar comments could have been made after the 2007/08 season but it turned out to be an 'addition by subtraction' issue.

Before some who love to bash coaches jump all over this post, it's not intended to be a defense of any assistants. Just an observation of the mindset of fans.

So we have a down year and didn't meet these boards expectations! You really think this team wanted to have this kinda season! No but it happens. This is the best women's basketball conference and other teams like Texas are stepping it up. We will have to as well.

But alas I'm glad the heartache and agony is over for so many of you. I'm sure the countless hours in gyms after each loss and coaches ripping into you was taking it's toll. Thanks for giving it your all this year and pouring blood, sweat, and tears into every game all the while being great ambassadors of the game.
