Flopper to the Celtics with the 6th Pick

No way in hell anyone comes close to 8-9M for Bradley - that's nonsense. Even at 5-6 I'd say that's really overpaying for what he brings especially with his injury history.

Think Rondo has to be gone at this point, hasn't been in their plans for a while now it seems.
 
I don't think anything would be wrong with it. Smart would have to adjust to coming off the bench, something he's never done. I just think that as many holes as that team has and as deep a draft as this year was why spend a top 10 pick on a reserve?

Are you seeing something or guessing?

The Boston rumor is that Rondo wouldn't sign long-term there, and that is part of the holdup. They almost completed a trade sending Rondo to Sac last season, but again, the fact that Rondo wouldn't re-up with them was the reason it didn't happen.

There was nobody else to draft in that spot. It was Smart, or a PF like Randle/Vonleh. And Boston is set at PF. They need a C bad, but there wasn't one available in that range. They are pretty much set at SF with Green for the time being. About the only other guy picked in the next 7 or so spots that might have made sense, would have been Stauskas or maybe McDermott. And both have questions about their ability to do anything other than shoot it. And they still might get Stauskas back if they do end up trading with Sac.

There are 2-3 guys drafted ahead of Smart that might not start this season either. I think that is a bad way of judging the draft. I still think Boston is trying to move Rondo, but I don't think they'll give him away. If they lose Bradley, Smart might end up playing some 2 this year as well.

David Aldridge tweeted it was a done deal. Perhaps he was premature.
 
Not doubting you, but I don't see the tweet. Maybe he deleted it?

There is definitely talk between the two teams. Personally I hope something gets done.

Interesting. I hope it happens. Boston isn't winning this year or next. Rondo isn't worth $100M. Get Stauskas. Get Maclemore(sp). Get a future pick. And keep the rebuild going.

Actually, after doing some digging, that was a fake David Aldridge twitter account.

Still think the two teams are talking though.

Bradley would be a steal at 5-6 imo
 
What do you guys think they could get in return for Rondo? Is Sacremento the only team rumored to be involved?
 
I don't think there has been a rumor in awhile about Rondo to any team except Sac.

I know Houston was VERY interested last season, but that didn't work out, and with Asik gone (a player the Celts might have wanted), hard to see that working out.

I've seen way differing opinions on how to value Rondo. The biggest hurdle at this point is finding a team that he will extend with, or else, that probably lowers what the C's can get for him. Nobody is going to trade a bunch of talent for a guy like Rondo if he is only there for one season.

Boston just resigned him for $32M/4 years. That is $8M per season. I doubt they'd have went that high if they didn't have to.

That is what I thought. Then somebody posted a list of what other SG's are making, and their stats compared to Bradley's, and I have a difficult time saying he isn't worth it. I'm not his biggest fan, but he did have a really good season last year.

He was restricted, right? They kind of bid against themselves in a sense. I don't know. Just seems like a lot for him.

That's ridiculous on Bradley, his offensive game especially his jumper improved this year and he is their only and best defender but he's never even come close to playing a full season yet.

Then again I saw the Cav's were planning on offering Gordon Heyward a max 15M a year deal. What the hell may as well give Bradley 10M a year if Heyward is getting that much.
