Football question

This team is a good QB away from having a serious shot at winning number 9. And that is not hating on anyone. Mateer is bad. The defense is incredible. Just the facts.
Its not just mateer. Its DM with his weird rotations that took all year to find the clearly best RB. Its BA who hates running the ball. And on our WRs that are still very pedestrian. But who cares, just win

Robinson was hurt and didn't look right. But OU's receivers are kinda mid. Sategna is good rest can't really make big plays.

I wish we would stop trying to run the perimeter screen passes because our guys on the outside just don’t block well enough for it to work. We have to find other ways to get guys the ball in space.

He was still falling forward for 4 yards a carry even then.. BA has taco tech permanently imprinted in his brain

We have a few serviceable WR. Those guys are fine in a limited role but when that’s your entire WR corps, it’s not good and certainly not good enough in the SEC. We definitely need more talented WR and TE.

I absolutely hate the Arbuckle offense and I hate his tendency to abandon the run and make stupid playcalls. I don’t think we’re ever going to win it all with this offense, even if we have NFL players at every position.

I don’t think the big wigs at OU will make a change but we need to make a change at OC and we still need to find a QB. I like mateer, he’s a competitor and a good leader but he’s a lower level QB.

I don't really have a huge complaint about the offense outside of not being able to throw away a screen pass or the illegal block early, which I'm not sure was actually illegal. Both of those cost us points as well as the facemask that got picked up.

Alabama is a top 10 defense and our offense did what they needed to do. As I've said before, if the offense can put up 24 points with no bad turnovers, I'll take our chances against anybody. Our defense set the tone early and the offense, and as much as I hate the term "complementary football," that's exactly what our mediocre offense was able to do today.

Anybody else want to mock me for maintaining that our defense is elite?

I don't really understand this complaint. Our run/pass ratio was basically 50/50. And we averaged twice as many yards on passing attempts vs rushing attempts with no turnovers. When we run for 2.6 ypc, I just don't see how more of that was the right answer.

I was pulling my hair out in the second quarter. We weren't getting home, and I was afraid we were going to sit back and let this guy throw for 550. Not sure what the adjustments were back there, but the front 7 delivered so many body blows in the third and fourth quarters it caused Simpson to rush the biggest throw of the night.

What a great performance by the D and the special teams. Turnovers are such an equalizer. We've got to figure out a way to sustain drives. It's hard to win when you're behind in the play count 75-48 (last I saw), but with a D like ours you're always going to have a chance. I believe that was the old Chuck Fairbanks quote "we've got a chance to have a chance" or something along those lines. We are now in a position to hold serve at home twice for the right to host a playoff game. I am absolutely thrilled to death. God, I hate Alabamuh. Boomer Sooner !!
