Football question

It's not worse, but given what we were sold with the Arbuckle & Mateer package, it really is just as bad.

The JFA + anybody had higher expectations and delivered less.

On a scale of 1/10, we were a 1 under Littrell, 3 under JJF, and now a 5-6/10 when healthy. It's not even close to where we want to be, but it's unequivocally better. Last year's offense could likely have us at 5-5 or 6-4 right now. Nobody would be nervous about Mizzou because it wouldn't matter.

The Missouri quarterback is gonna come back after a destroyed ankle and ball out. Meanwhile, Oklahoma fans will still be making excuses for Mateer weeks after he’s been cleared from a thumb injury. 😂
Wanna bet?

Not sure if the West side renovations were brought up - but $450M estimated cost. There's no reason they can't have an on-campus arena if they can find that money, they're just choosing not to do it.

Baylor's new arena and Texas' new arena both cost under $300M.

disaster .. terrible terrible project ..

They didn't "find" that money, they've been saving (both internally and donations) for well over a decade.
A decade AT LEAST! This has been in the works before there were even drawings on the south side stuff. The press box and the Asp garage are the engineering boondoggles they're trying to work around. I get lowering capacity (the sellout streak ended ages ago, regardless of how the University spins it) but that is a HEFTY price tag and I have no idea how they will reach the finish line. The University is not in good shape financially.

this is a terrible idea .. but it is pretty much already paid for ..

those 14 lower level suites .. pay for a lot of the renovation .. and allow them to finance the rest ..

You can disagree with me, but please don’t take it out of context. Show my whole post.
The insult was was too far. I apologize.

I just want to win and think the positive publicity will help us in recruiting and the portal more than any forced coaching changes.

The last two games will be tough, but we are good enough to win, and I think we would be favorites in our first round matchup. At some point our season will end due to our offense, and BV will be made 100% aware of the changes that need to be made, if he's somehow in denial still.

We're two defensive touchdowns away from being 6-4.

That's fine, but that level of planning and dedication should be applied to building an on-campus arena.

If we're going to take away 2 wins from this season, then you have to take away the Kip-6s last year and drop our record to 4-8.

Unlike the 1Q defensive touchdowns, we had multiple 4Q ones last year, some of which the offense squandered like Mizzou.

The University is not in good shape financially.

How so?

The University of Oklahoma (OU): S&P Global Ratings recently upgraded the University of Oklahoma's (Norman campus) rating to AA-minus from A-plus in October/November 2025, citing strong enrollment trends and positive financial operations.

Can't force people to donate to something they don't want to donate to.

Maybe getting a good, likeable coach on campus would change things. We'd probably have that if Kelvin were here NOW. Lon was likeable, but not inspiring. Moser is just a goofy turd of a man. But again, OU can't make people donate to basketball specifically. Put a good product on the court first.

The University wants nothing to do with funding an arena. In their eyes, dollars pumped into basketball are dollars lost. The University has been hoarding every additional cent it can scrounge to funnel toward football, and it almost cost us the services of Patty Gasso along the way (there were some shady dealings with the big Love's donation). But this shouldn't be a surprise. We are who we are because of football. Ask George Lynn Cross!
If a big donor stepped forward to cover at least 75% of the cost to build an arena on campus the dirt would be moved tomorrow.

Offensive efficiency score/ranking per ESPN:

2025 - 61.8/42nd

2024 - 39.2/95th

So yes, the OU offense has been MUCH better this year.

Some people here can't see the difference in the offense this year.

Those people should not trust their eyes.
