Our offense is somehow as bad as our defense was in the Riley era. It’s becoming a national laughingstock. Even the halftime crew was talking about how awful that display was, and then Jackson Arnold 2.0 comes out and throws the back-breaking pick that may well cost the team a playoff spot.

When the quarterback play is this bad, there isn’t much you can do. Dude can’t throw accurate passes no matter how far or short they are. We can’t run consistently (hit a big one once every quarter or so but then get no yards on the next couple), and Sategna is our only good player.

I grew up in the 1970s...watching Mateer throw is like watching a wishbone QB throw (minus JC Watts who was a better passer than Mateer). Unfortunately, there is no Greg Pruitt, Joe Washington or Billy Sims to hand the ball to.

Their interim coach is smarter than our head coach. I said in the second quarter: they are just going to play incredibly conservatively on offense and let Mateer lose the game for OU. It’s working.

I mean, we threw tons of short passes in the first half. Mateer missed Helms on a two yard throw that may have gone for a 70 yard touchdown. We threw our usually screens that went nowhere. We had the short pass to Gibson where he didn’t stay on his feet.

I do wonder if our staff knows that running back screens are legal? Instead of the one yard screen to a recover, how about leaking a back into the flat? Midtier would probably miss him, but worth a shot.

What? Mateer missed a two yard out to a TE. He's hit quick slants to Sategna. The long bomb that was a pick is a 1 on 1 route. The QB underthrew the ball. The playcalls are mixing up passes. If anything, the coaching staff has too much faith in the QB

If we're gonna get the penalty anyway (I'm glad we didn't burn a TO) then yes, you HAVE TO try ro get them to jump. bv incompetence
