Football question

Nobody worried about offense under Riley for obvious reasons. The same logic applies to the best defensive mind in CFB. It’s not hard to see the logic in that thinking
We’re not talking about the entire unit. We’re talking about one group: linebackers. You can’t just assume linebacker play will never be an issue at OU just because BV is the coach. Linebacker play could absolutely take a step back if the planets don’t align. But that doesn’t mean the entire defense will be bad.

Welcome news that they are going to have a new TE coach. Let’s hope they don’t just hire a former Sooner or friend of Brent’s.

He just turned a wrestler walk-on into a very good player. So I’ll assume it won’t be an issue while he’s here.

There’s a rumor on Twitter about Jason Witten as new OU TE coach. He also has a 5 star son that we’re recruiting. It sounds too good to be true.

What’s the problem with Lepak? I know nothing except he was at ksu and had some good TEs. He was the OL coach last I heard
Nothing inherently except itd be ironic to fire jjf, a former ou player, to hire lepak, a former ou player (and he didn't play TE like JJF did). Which is exactly something OU would do lol

I swear if BV hires Brian lepak from KSU...
I’ve heard this as the most likely candidate.

I’ve actually heard Lepak as the most likely candidate to be hired. Not sure how legit that is.

Lepak feels like an obvious hire if no OU ties. I don't see OU ties as changing that. It just can't be the only reason for the hire.

Indiana running for over 5 YPC with their running backs. It helps when your line and backs are well coached.

This Indiana team is quite impressive. They are controlling both lines of scrimmage and picking Bama apart. This shows what elite coaching and player development can do for you as a program. They have used the portal to a degree, but it isn't like they are hauling in Top 10 classes in recruiting either. Cignetti is the best coach in the country.....and it really isn't close.

And if they end up winning a national title under him, this year or in the future, it’s the best coaching job I can recall in college sports. To turn around a wretched program this fast is unreal. And makes me chuckle at all the people who acted like Brent had no chance at being successful in his first two or three years.

Brent was successful in year 2.
