Football question

Man today shows again we just have no chance with Mateer. The qb play in this game is off the charts, and the other semi will feature the first two picks of the draft. Stockton and Chambliss are just trading big play for big play, despite getting pressured and taking tons of hits. Chambliss apparently doesn’t believe that it takes time to adjust on a new head coach and conference lol.

I agree. Mateer was a weight holding the team down 90% of the time. Chambliss and Stockton elevate their team.

We had the #12 SOS overall and they were #28. You truly are bad at this. It's one thing when your predictions are bad, and they truly were almost all wrong this year, but it's really indefensible how bad you are at explaining statistics that already happened.
Dude chill. He just said the schedule wasn’t as tough as we expected it to be. Which is true. Missouri, SC and LSU were not near as good as predicted. OU still had a tough schedule. Nobody is denying that. Don’t gotta die on every hill

We were beating Ole Miss in the 4th quarter.

We should hang that banner alongside the 10-3 banner from Brent’s second year! The “we had the lead for a few minutes at home till our QB led us to zero points in the fourth quarter and made a horrific decision on fourth down” banner.
It’s mind boggling the lengths some fans will go to defend Mateer.

I suppose you're right, we would never in a million years be able to compete with a team like Ole Miss.

They are in such a different tier that if we played them this year, we probably would have lost 63-28. We would never have been able to slug it for 60 minutes a few weeks after surgery, hold a 4th quarter lead, and play a game that comes down to a final possession.

We just don't belong on the same field.

Yeah the team who just made the playoffs have no chance next year.

Stastistics vs Ole Miss
- Stockton: 17/30, 215 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
- Mateer: 17/31, 223 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT

For good measure, we'll add in rushing yards
- Stockton: 13 for 20 yards
- Mateer: 13 for 17 yards

You can't make this **** up.

Except the game you watched tonight.
Georgia was two for three on fourth down and scored on both possessions they converted.

Stockton tonight made about five plays Mateer couldn’t make if his life depended on it. And unlike Mateer, he only jumps to throw when it’s necessary.

It’s amazing how much satisfaction a couple of you take from us losing at home by 8 as a 5.5 pt favorite to Ole Miss, in a game we led for less than five minutes, got outgained by 60 yards, and got gashed on third down. If an 8-pt home loss in a game we were favored to win is supposed to be reason to think we are close to being able to win four playoff games, that’s some sort of distorted thinking. Should we also be fired up that we only lost by 10 to one of the worst Bama teams in a couple decades?

I guess you missed my post where they had identical stats against the same defense. And that's without factoring in that Mateer was a few weeks post-op and Stockton has a better supporting cast. I'll requote it for you here.

This is pretty classic logic for you. Mock a team for losing to Ole Miss by 8 while praising a team that lost by 5. The same type of logic that led you to predict we would only win 6 games this year, wouldn't have an elite defense, and that we'd have a transfer portal exodus due to culture not mattering.

With your track record of football predictions, I honestly love that you think Mateer won't have a better year and that our team won't be good.

Should we also be fired up that we only lost by 10 to one of the worst Bama teams in a couple decades?

You make another valid point. Given what we have seen from Venables in the SEC thus far, how could we possibly hope to compete against a team like Alabama? Like with Ole Miss, the game would be over in the first half, and we'd get blown out everytime.
