Wins over Notre Dame, Illinois, Cal, and Villanova.

He has probably been the biggest coaching surprise. But, you have to consider he inherited a loaded team.

There are really only two candidates right now if you're talking Bog 12 COY.

Loaded is an overstatement. He inherited one returning all-Big 12 first team player, one honorable mention, and one guy a year removed from a third-team nod. Not void of talent, but not oozing it, either. He began the season with only eight scholarship players. One of those guys was coming off an achilles injury that kept him out of basketball for over a year. Another was entering his senior season and had played 20+ minutes in only one game in his prior three years at Mizzou. Only three guys on the roster are taller than 6-6. Not exactly the group most coaches would choose to go to war with for 30-40 games if they could have their pick.

Haith was a guy i thought, living in Boulder as i do, that CU should have looked at when they hired Jeff Bzdelik 4 years ago. they could have afforded him.

i didn't think he was a great hire for Mizzou (after the Painter fiasco) but my hat is off so far.

Exactly! A loaded team with four seniors in the starting lineup.

No question, Mizzou is good. I have seen them play twice and came away impressed each time. But anyone who thinks they can't lose to a lesser team, didn't watch the ODU game.

Will that bit of knowledge do anything to help OU next week? Not likely. The Tigers may be the worst match up we'll face in conference this season. I don't like our chances on the road to a team that presses full court the entire game...not after watching Cincy give us fits in the closing minutes of our loss Friday night.

Haith is doing a good job. Is it on the COTY level? I think we should wait to see how his team performs in the Big 12 before putting that crown on his head.

Mizzou rarely presses, and when they do it's really not much more than a token pressure (more to slow the game down than speed it up).

Really dont know what games you are watching? I saw them yesterday and they do press to get there game uptempo. Soon as ODU shot early they where gone. When they made shots they pressed. Maybe not zone presses but man to man. If you control the back boards with you inside players and watch the break OU will beat them. They like to get the rebound run out and hit the guys for threes. The guy was outcoached by Blaine Taylor. He is not a COY candidate. Now if Lon stays above 500 with this team he is a possibilty. This guy will be our problem inside.... Agree this will be a bad matchup for us, but, it will really benefit us to play them this early!!
