What a front line we could have!!! We've come so far in a short time.

I don't care about the kid's offense much at all.

Where we can elevate OU to the next level is if he is an elite shot blocker and rebounder.

Remember, Kelvin had a lot of talented teams, but his only team to make a post season run was one that included Jabahri Brown. He gave Kelvin an athletic big that he really hadn't had before, and it allowed us to run a bit more on O, and to gamble a bit more on D. Hopefully Manyang can do the same.

Good points. It's also important to note that the rules put in place last year made players who can protect the rim more important than ever before.

With a front line in 2015 of Spangler, Manyang, Lattin, McNeace, and possibly Thomas if he has to sit out this season, not many teams will want to drive the lane on OU's front court players

It definitely seems like one of these guys will be capable of being the shot blocking presence we desperately missed last season.

I like that, but I'll say Meyers Leonard.

Meyers not much of a shot blocker tho right? Manyang looks like a very lean and lanky shot blocker first and foremost, with some good touch and some mid range capability mixed in.

Big 10 leader in bpg as a sophomore at 1.9 a game.

Looks much more fluid then Longar - hard not to call this off season a success based on our needs.

This is fantastic news, welcome Akolda. I'm just giddy to have a player this size with some offensive game. Its feels like the program took a big step to return to the top 15 status it had for most of the last 30 years.

Top juco big man in the country, folks!

This is why we couldn't offer igor ibaka, I presume.

What a get! Just think what a great roster we'd have if only Kruger could recruit. ;)

The article cracks me up! It reads, something like "the first true 7 Footer in the Lon Kruger era". Hell he is first true player taller than 6'9".....
