Metrics are a great indicator to tell you how good/bad your team is.some of yall spend too much time on metrics. Just win
The statement above is further evidence that the "big picture" continues to escape the simple minded of our fanbase.some of yall spend too much time on metrics. Just win
I'm fine with being simple minded. The statement above is further evidence that the "big picture" continues to escape the simple minded of our fanbase.
Yes you’re simple minded and you don’t understand. The metrics reveal a lot about teams but not everything. Sometimes, not playing well is a product of guys just sleep walking through a game because they’re better than the other team. However, when you have 5 years of data that suggest you aren’t very good and the results to back that up, maybe it does mean something. So you saying “just win” completely misses the mark and shows you are simple minded and don’t understand the argument.I'm fine with being simple minded.
Win games and it all works out
Worrying about scheduling the 200th best team vs the 300th best team is just silly.
Call me simple minded. Call me an old. I don't care. Winning takes care of everything...especially in conference play.
And if we are at a point in the program where the difference in us getting into the tournament or not is because we played a 300 ranked team vs a 200 ranked team, then we aren't anywhere near where we should be as a program anyways.

Exactly. Run differential in baseball is one of the most accurate predictive factors in assessing a team’s ultimate success. Same is true in other sports. Good to great teams blow out bad opponents.Metrics are a great indicator to tell you how good/bad your team is.
Considering we just don't blow out the worst teams in Div-I and haven't in Moser's tenure...I would say there is a good correlation between that and our post-season track record.
Oh man. You must be new to OU basketballCool.
Just win
My point still stands. If scheduling 300 teams instead of 200 teams is the difference in us making the tourney, we aren't close to where we need to be and don't deserve to be in
You’re right on. The whiners wanna complain cause they’re trolls. Probably never stepped foot in the Lloyd. BoomerI'm fine with being simple minded.

You are twisting what I'm saying.KU improved their NET by three spots by beating a team in the mid 100s last night. We dropped five spots by beating a team in the 300s. And we still have posters arguing it doesn’t matter who we play or how many we win by. Remarkable.
I’m not missing the point, I understand what you are saying and simply disagree. And it’s not just about “getting in,” or it shouldn’t be. It affects seeding, and it also makes you better when you play teams that are worth a damn. KU could schedule their entire noncon against the 13 worst teams in America and they would still make the tourney because they are good enough and will do well in their league. But it would hurt their seed and it would not prepare them to be at their best when the conference season starts. Anyone who follows sports or played sports knows that teams and players generally improve by playing good competition. Conversely, it’s almost impossible to truly improve when you play absolute garbage. You are twisting what I'm saying.
My whole point was that arguing over 200 teams vs 300 teams is dumb. If that is the reason we are left out of a tournament then we don't belong and are a far way from where we need to be as a program
I get what you are saying but don’t fully agree. We are likely going to be a bubble team at best and the little things do and will matter. We might not get in, and we might get in and lose immediately. We might also get in and win a few games because we have enough talent to do that. That is the ceiling we have right now and that is why the scheduling is important. We play in a tough conference and have no home court advantage. Getting in the tournament is much better than not getting in for our program. Getting in and winning a game or two is huge for our program right now.You are twisting what I'm saying.

exactly. We have plenty of tough games. at the end of the year, we will have a good SOS.We play in a tough conference and have no home court advantage.
