GAME 20 - OKLAHOMA (15-4) @ TEXAS A&M (15-5) 8:00pm CST on SEC NETWORK

I know, it’s just hard not to be negative when the team gets destroyed on the boards and our best player puts up a goose egg in a crucial league game. We’re just so poorly coached. There are very few opportunities to pick up wins in this league and this was one of them. Especially when you consider how badly A&M shot the ball.
Fair man, I get it. I think 3-4 years of ALMOST are weighing pretty heavy on us fans, even the more positive ones.

I know I said it in the thread, but Moser made some great adjustments at halftime, we overcame that stupid first 2 mins and clawed back ... then for him to UBERsub and bring back Sam/Fears into the game ... was about it for me. Very much at a loss for words, but Wague was clearly the momentum shifter on the PnR and opening up the floor that way.

Just poor end-game coaching and a game we could have stolen.

A&M, as much as I hate their style of play, is a good team and Buzz Williams is a solid coach. Just a close heartbreak.

We know you hate the coach but to say this is wild even for you!
Yep we really battled. I think I even saw us try to get a rebound once. I’ll be sure to check the box score tonight and see if Houston gets out rebounded by 20+. I’m sure it happens to everyone, right? Definitely couldn’t be a matter of coaching and effort.

The funniest part is that postgame, CW spoke about how difficult it is to rebound against the Aggies because of their size and how they go after the ball. I was thinking … isn’t part of his job to get HIS players to go after the ball that hard?

You listened to the postgame??? I'm not that much of a masochist.

Waking up to fun forum chat...so much negativity for a close loss where we competed on the road to a Top-15 team. (but KP 18)

BTW, OU jumped up from 43 to 41 in KenPom after last night and added .10 points of NetRtg.

Fears needs a wake up call, Dayton needs more run, Wague needs more time, and Sam needs his scholarship refunded. (partially kidding)
Pretty simple for me, the starting 5 the rest of the wat out needs to be.

Fears
Dayton
Goodine/Taylor depending on matchup
Moore
Wague

The way he distributed the ball catching it in the lane on the fly was really impressive to me

First play they put Godwin back in he fumbled the ball out of bounds. It wasn’t an easy catch or a good pass, but Wague caught several similar balls and made something out of them. The final 4 minutes was very bad coaching to put Godwin back in after Wague was dicing up their defense from the free throw line area. Moser comes up with a good offense to break them down and then just goes back to what hasn’t been working at the most crucial moment. Very frustrating.

I am astonished that I am about to say that Wague and Forsythe is two of our best 5 players. Honestly, I am shocked at how little Godwin is contributing right now. He is bringing fouls and missed layups to the game. Forsythe is bringing all the energy and gets the balls to players on the drive. No one else is really able to do that right now. He is doing exactly what he did in HS. If he can develop any he will be a really good player. Fears seems to be on his sophomore slump and yes I know he is a freshman. I was wanting Porter to leave him on the bench at the end of the game. Instead he comes in and is fouled and promptly misses two free throws to seal it for the aggies.

sunshine pumper reporting for duty. look, we snagged one in arky. we were garbage tonight, it doesn’t make many of us feel very confident that we will get the wins needed. so i am realistic that this probably won’t happen. but if we go 4-2 at home and snag another road dub at maybe ole miss (how great that would be, f chris beard), then we have a great shot. 7 gets you in because this conference is going to beat each other up, and we need to be in the middle of the middle of the pack…somehow.
Don’t take my job from me… 7-11 with aging wins against UL, Michigan and Arizona should be enough. Don’t want to settle for that but let’s see how they come out Saturday. Need to protect home court

When your point guard off the bench has four rebounds, which is twice as many as either of your starting post players, this is a problem.

Why, oh why, didn't we come up with the money to get Brandon Garrison,?
Ask pm. And ask why keita keita is on the team instead of taking a flyer on any other 5 in the country just in case

Seems like OU teams have been soft for years now. 🙁

I’m more concerned with Fears’ lack of scoring than the loss itself. I never expected OU to win. But, how does he not score? Lottery picks don’t go scoreless. It’s a completely different game if he even gets 10 points.
We have two decent front court rebounders, and they both should be backups.

This has nothing to do with heart or effort and everything to do with ability. A&M’s big guys are much, much better than ours. Blame who you want for that.

Maybe Keita loves OU as much as Sam lol. Also, I hope we are developing Atak well for whichever school he is at next year.
I don't mind atak. He was rated well and we need to fill out a roster and I'm sure he's cheap.

We lose like 8-9 dudes this year (plus whoever else we lose when pm is hopefully gone). I think atak could be a nice investment for cheap to be a piece next year

I totally forgot about Atak. Yeah he’ll be a great addition for whatever school he attends next year.

Also, where is Cole? The dude was under development all last year and he hasn’t seen meaningful minutes since before Thanksgiving. Maybe he’s buried under Moore and Taylor? He seemed like a really good athlete.

Don't forget the drive and kick to...........Ryan Humphrey? What in the world was THAT??!!!

Both BV and PM are incredibly loyal. And it may be the end for both of them.

Guards can rebound too.
