GAME 20 - OKLAHOMA (15-4) @ TEXAS A&M (15-5) 8:00pm CST on SEC NETWORK

Guards can rebound too.
Yeah, they can get a few. The total last night was 47-19.

That has nothing to do with effort. It’s a capability issue. Which isn’t an excuse, it’s reality and it’s ultimately Moser’s fault.

Though the fact we can’t afford to pay for an actual front court is a big problem moving forward.

Moore should average 8 boards a game. He seems to be in the right spot, but gets out rebounded. It’s frustrating to watch at times. You can say that about many guards as well. Fears just gets pushed under the basket when he tries to rebound or just box out. He will learn, but probably in a stint in g league for whatever nba drafts him.

They had a guy who is the same height as Moore get 12 last night. In what world is Moore not capable of doing that, given his jumping ability? Wague is tall, long, and very athletic.

I see lots of possessions where we have guys not blocking out at all, or giving a very halfhearted effort to do so. I don't have unrealistic expectations of us being a great or even good rebounding team, but we should be a hell of a lot better than we are, if we worked harder at it. I mean, we lost rebounding battles to a lot of the atrocious teams in Nov and Dec. As limited as our roster is, even I don't think those teams had more talent or natural rebounding ability than us.

Did anybody happen to notice who our leading rebounder was?? That's right............Dayton Forsythe!
I think Forsythe is ready for more minutes. He won’t fill up the scoresheet but I think he’s proven that he can hold his own. He brings energy to the team. Same with Wague. If Moser is serious about winning he needs to take a look at the lineup.

Dayton has shown me more than I expected recently, I never questioned his effort, just his talent/upside. He has shown that he can at least make good decisions passing the ball, and he seems willing to at least penetrate, draw the defense, and kick it to an open man.

As for Mo -- I don't care about the fouls at this point. If he isn't starting Saturday, it's a joke. I don't know if CW is so blinded by his love for Sam that he can't admit how awful he has been, but it is a joke at this point. Plus, it's not like Sam doesn't get in foul trouble himself. For the past couple weeks, Mo has made at least one winning, hustle play virtually every time he checks in. I still can't forgive Moser for going back to Sam for the final four minutes at Georgia -- taking out our best player that half in favor of good old Sam.

Mo needs to play until he fouls out in every remaining game .. (meaning OU gets the Max amount of min out of him)

I’m not arguing we can’t do better, but 47-19 is more than an effort problem.

But to your point, if we close to something like 40-26, maybe we win the game.

Remember Ernie Abercrombie? If we had a guy like him last night, we win that game. I don't know what kind of a rebounder Kai Rogers is, but he's got to be better than either Sam or LN. We also have to add a F/C type from the portal who fits that bill. Nwankwo averaged almost 8 rpg in juco, so I do think he will help there at the wing position.

False

Bc of this
Yep, I have been harder on Dayton than anyone, but you can easily see his effort when he rebounds. He is small and less athletic than the other 9 guys on the floor more often than not, but he wants the ball and attacks it. Even the announcers pointed it out on two or three of his boards.

Looks like a potential solid glue guy

He has those intangibles that sometimes doesn't always show up in the stat sheet. The kid is a winner and I look forward to seeing him grow as a player during his OU career. To me, even if we do go through a coaching change at some point...he's the kind of kid that would stay. I think he wants to be a sooner.

I think he is the most likely to stay, purely a hunch. I can't see any of the incoming kids staying committed to OU. I expect Blair to sign and play pro ball, and the other two have no ties to the school or state, so not sure why they would stick unless they really connect with the new staff or have preexisting relationships with them.

i could see blair sticking if he is coming to play baseball at OU still ..

and the big guys .. if Humprey is retained .. they could stick ..

And that’s why, if Joe C is smart, he’s already looking for a slew of candidates to interview. SEC tournament—> fire Moser—> interview your top couple quickly—> find the guy—-> new coach has time to recruit the commits and retain the roster.
