GAME 34 - ROUND 1 - OKLAHOMA (20-13) vs UCONN (24-10) 8:25pm CST on TNT

They were throwing bodies at Fears. Others have hit big shots this year.

Criticize the season as a whole, I get it. I agree.

But y'all baitching about anything and everything that didn't work.....wow. Childish.
Yeah, it's way over the top at this point. If we had made it to the final 8 and lost, the comments would be the same. Gonna get ready for the Women's game tomorrow. Like I said earlier, I'm glad we are back in the tourney. Hopefully we build off that.

I'm proud of the guys for the way they closed out the regular season and played in the SEC tourney. Tonight was tough to take. That game was winnable. If we make half of the shots that we missed right at the basket, we win. If we shoot 30% from three, we win. If we do both--not an unreasonable expectation--we win comfortably.

Very disappointing. But the guys fought hard and I'm proud of them for getting there.
Yeah, disappointing considering how winnable the game turned out to be. With UConn’s struggles out there this season, expected better perimeter shooting. A couple threes dropping and who knows.

That being said, pretty up & down season (highs of non-conference & lows of the AU/Tenn/Mizz/UF stretch) but definitely met expectations. Will be great to see Fears in the league.

So you’re saying the team totally screwed up the play and didn’t run it correctly? Good thing it’s November and Moser has plenty of time to work on it! Oh wait…

This doesn’t reflect any better on the head coach.
Every play doesn’t get run correctly in the NBA finals. An 18 stud freshman had a lapse, it happens all the time with every team. Hell UCONN couldn’t inbound the ball from the sideline the entire game.

I think it’s reasonable to root for Moser going to Nova, but we have must infuse more NIL cash into the program regardless.
I no longer think it's reasonable. I didn't at the beginning, started to after the LSU game, and now think it's crazy again. Who are we going to get that's better? Who would come into a situation with a 50-year-old arena, no NIL and a fanbase that gives up on the team after one loss? Our reputation in the basketball community is getting worse and worse.

Watching on replay, Fears was supposed to come back to the ball, Porter was getting on to him. It was the same play they ran against Kentucky late in the SEC tournament to get Fears that 3.
If so, did we not have a timeout if pm wasn't getting the play he wanted? Or just eff it?

Lon's last two tournament years led to an OU win in the first round.

Outside of Buddy's Jr and Sr seasons, Lon won two tourney games in 8 years. I fail to see the difference. I don't see how making a few open baskets tonight drastically changes the season as a whole.

Man, this Moser apologia is off the charts. If the team screws up crucial plays down the stretch, that reflects on the head coach. It’s pretty simple.

You have moser derangement syndrome. He outcoached hurley tonight, they missed a lot of shots. Didn't play well at the end. They should have made it last year without a fluke and probably still should have been in. If you believe the story about mccolum then so be it. This team was picked to finish bad in the sec, they made the tourney with an average transfer portal.
He has a lot more than Moser derangement syndrome

It’s March, that can’t happen and it’s on… wait for it… the head coach who gets paid millions of dollars.
So would you rather have fears on floor with a possible brain fart or Elvis? Cause fears has has done similar all season, but I still would prefer him on floor. Players make mistakes at times.

Okay.. so we get a double and pass for a wide open shots? I don't think fears was being triangled and two'ed lol

McCollum. Olen. Odom. Medved. Bucky Ball. Etc.

How so? You're saying we can't use fears bc they know we have to use fears or am I misreading your somewhat ambiguous post?

But yet, Kentucky gets to do EXACTLY that against us for game winners. Twice
I am only half joking, but it’s like Trae’s year. Fears should have been taking 50 shots a game haha.
