my wife and I recently moved to another state and I was excited to buy a plane ticket to watch these guys in Norman but now..no way.

We made the tourney last year on the strength of three or four good noncon wins and the overall strength of our conference. It’s not even two weeks into the season and we are already in terrible position. We have no more opportunities for big noncon wins. We play four more decent teams but no one that moves the needle. And of course, the rest of our noncon will absolutely kill us. Not even close to Thanksgiving yet and Moser has already fu**ed us.

The hilarious thing is he is now realizing our three thru five men are playing bad defense. Again, this man called Davis a national defensive POY caliber defender a month ago. I almost feel bad for the players. They deserve lots of blame too but their coach is just hopelessly outmatched.

Scoring is great. Rebounding and playing great help D is just as great. These guys like filling up the rack but Moser has to get them more hungry on the other side. Talent isn't the issue, obviously. Confidant this team will be peaking later on this year.

The writing has been on the wall for years now. Landing Fears bought him some grace, but that has quickly evaporated. This is the most talented and athletic team in Norman since Buddy’s senior year. Gotta be better.

Best case scenario is 8-4 non conference with the way they are playing right now.

Side note: I'm a uniform fanatic, and I recognized the threads Nebraska was wearing tonight. It was an homage to 1996 when Converse had a template for all their teams, of which we were one, that featured tire treads on the shorts. They were AWFUL, but lots of teams wore them because Converse had a much bigger footprint in the sport back then compared to now. Nebraska was wearing those monstrosities when they came to Norman and lost in triple OT. They had a guard who hit a shot to beat us in either OT or double OT, but it went over the top of the backboard (Jaron Boone, maybe) and the officials, without the benefit of replay, correctly waved it off.
