GAME 4 - OKLAHOMA (3-0) VS EAST TEXAS A&M (1-4) - 7PM CST on SEC NETWORK+

You know, when Moser had his preseason press conferences he would often talk about the importance of having guys come back that had played in the system. He always talked about Moore and Godwin, but never once mentioned Northweather. I had a bad feeling that that was a sign.
Man.. idk why you keep a guy that isn't playable. Isn't it better to take a swing on someone new just in case?

10 point game with about 8 minutes left and we win by almost 30? Cool.

Before the era of NIL and transfers it made sense to have three or four guys that were just really good practice players. But it doesn't make sense now. Go out and find someone who can actually contribute even alittle.

Going into tonight....we were #362 out of #364 in SOS.....according to Kenpom. And tonight we are playing #350. So when we wake up tomorrow, we will be the proud owners of the worst SOS in the country.
Damn you and your facts!

I like that we dominated without the 2 most experienced players really playing the 2nd half for the most part.

We'll see how this team holds up in conference play. Taylor looks like a good bench piece. Fears has no fear. Miles seems pretty solid.

Not that Norweather is a stud, but he was Missouri POY. Guessing he had a better vision of what his time in Norman would be like.

I don't think there is any reason to react to the first handful of games. It didn't make a lick of difference last April that OU hammered the bad teams on the schedule. The season is so long. Also, no need to complain about the schedule anymore because what is done is done. BUT, I do believe they need Goodine and Jones back asap. I don't think Providence is much better than last year but it is such an important game for the Sooners.

Oh I absolutely agree. I thought he would be a great pickup. I don't think Moser is just intentionally not playing him. He had a real shot to make some noise last year but just couldn't.

Anyone should have been able to see that. Dude had almost no real offers out of high school and was unrated. Moser tried to hype him up last preseason and people bought in. The fact he can’t get minutes on this roster speaks volumes.

Good to see Taylor have a good game. Need good bench pieces. Would really like to get more out of Wague and Cole. Then we might be cooking with something..
Wague had some moments here and there. He had a real nice and one early on. But he just fouls too much. I think we'll have issues inside if those guys don't develop. Godwin and Moore should be okay but if one or both get in foul trouble I don't trust those 2. I guess Luke Northweather has fallen off a cliff.

I don't think there is anything wrong with taking a chance on a guy who is 6'11 and can shoot. He probably just should have been processed out this year. I could see him having alot of success at a team like Southeast Missouri.

Except he can’t shoot.

I think he’s probably a good shooter. You don’t get Missouri POY for being a bad shooter. I think the issue is the game is too fast for him. I don’t think he could really ever get comfortable on the court.
But that’s just it. At this level of basketball, in order to be a good shooter, you have to be able to get shots off quickly, or create your own shot. Everyone on this board probably can think of guys they saw in high school who could knock down open shots like no one’s business. But very few of those guys would ever have any shot at playing D-1, let alone at a power conference school.

In other news, Moser said again after the game that Goodine is “close,” fwiw. If he isn’t back Wednesday, this will start to remind me of Brent saying that a couple of our WRs were “running around” at practice a few weeks ago.

I agree. And that’s why Northweather should have been processed out this last offseason. But I don’t fault Moser for recruiting him. I think this just speaks to OU’s inability to get quality big men.

Yeah I feel that. I would rather just have the coaches be honest with us. “You probably won’t see him for another ______ weeks.”
