When I find out certain players are McDonalds All-Americans or are being recruited by elite programs like UCONN/Tenn/ND, or they make elite USA teams, I have to admit my excitement is higher than it is for players who are not highly recruited/ranked. That doesn't mean that players who are not recruited by good programs cannot turn out to be good players but admittedly, my expectations for those players are not as high.
I remember when we recruited CP, Aaryn, Whitney, etc I was extremely excited even before their arrival. I won't name them but, there have been others who did not get me excited when they signed. I think it is natural for people to have opinions based upon the available player information; however, we should all realize the top players may not be as good at the D-1 level as advertised while other lower ranked players may turn out to be better than we expected.
It does not bother me to take a "project" in a 15 player roster where there is room to gamble on a player or two. But, it is very important to see some great players being added as well.
Looking at the class of 2014, we are in on some really good players, just hoping we can close the deal.
