That is one big reason i wanted him here...the dude wasnt just sitting around eating burgas....

He has stayed involved in the AAU circuit and without being a coach he didnt have to worry about any sanctions or rules violations...

Tech will be good, and good very quickly...

This seems to be the hot new trend in college basketball. Perhaps hiring Fraschilla wouldn't be such a bad idea. He's had nearly 10 years to recruit with no NCAA oversight. lol

It's hard for me to get on OU too much for not getting Gillispie. The BCG to Tech deal had been in the works for a loooooong time. I'm not sure how realistic of a shot any other school really had.

Texas Tech is still in Lubbock. Our biggest worry is the pathetic fan support we have.

Hopefully our two biggest assets, OU football and the rivalry with Texas will continue to carry the day.

I can really see Gillispie having an Eddie Sutton type of career at Tech though. OSU and TTU are both dumps in the middle of nowhere but those two guys are seasoned coached who will be willing to take kids with character flaws.

I can confirm that Texas Tech has hit the ground running in recruiting. They are evaluating several Juco and prep players in Oklahoma. Five current Oklahoma high school seniors are being evaluated. They are also looking at a McDonald's All American caliber wing.
