I kinda thought the same based on stats and how the evaluations of him read. But he basically said that Cezar Guerrero is another TMG type player that loves to shoot and doesn't care about being a PG and that OSU should not go after him at all. They were talking more about OSU's basketball future. But I really don't like the guy at all now. I would rather stay with Blair than get another short guy that think he can shoot and beat teams with it. But getting another TMG at this point would just compound the mistakes and make us worse not better.

Let the Sqwaks have him! It's they're turn to deal with the bs we went through.

The thing about Kansas is they have about 8 different of his type of players. If he's a jerk and doesn't like his role they can just bench him and play someone just as good or better. Look at Tyshawn Taylor.

We need a PG/G that can score...its what we desperately need. Gottlieb wasn't comparing TMG and Guerrero's as people...just their games. And I personally don't mine if we get him b/c its not a for sure thing that Guerrero can beat out Blair. And we need another PG on this roster.

what I heard was that Gotleib said that he is a scoring PG. i didn't hear the actual interview though. If he has the talent of TMG but smarter and a good teammate I would take him

We need better distributing not scoring...Osby, Clark, Fitz can provide the scoring foundation. Another scoring pg will just make this team even worse than now. I don't know about Guerrero's D...seldom do they show that on AND1 mixtapes. I'd pass on Guerrero if there were better options. For now, we're sort of pot committed.

thats wht gottlieb said... he is a scoring point guard... he did say that he wouldnt be a good fit with nash and paige because all 3 like to score too much... he also said, that guererro is basically the california version of paige... the tmg comparison is coming from zepp... he also said, that guererro is the best of the available highschool point guards and thats why he's getting so much attention... and also that ku will not offer him...

You might be right. I think we need basically Blair with better handles. But if we find a Blair with better handles I wouldn't mind us adding a shooter too.

I know you guys hate Gottlieb but he was a true pass-first PG and a very good one at that. So he is obviously biased towards pass-first PGs.

He did compare him to TMG. I can't remember his exact wording. Something about having an ego like TMG. He didn't say he was as good as TMG.

I think a distributor is important in this offense. When we had AJ we actually looked like we had an offense half the time. Granted we had the benefit of giving to Blake who could beat just about anyone. But AJ was also a solid distributor. I think that's what we need as a PG in the offense not a "scoring point guard"

Did you hear this on the Sports Animal or another radio show???

He may be similar to TMG in that one respect, but I dont see him being nearly as good as TMG. TMG had a bad attitude and played little defense, but he has a great ability to score and could set people up when he wanted to. His pull-up jumper was pretty unstoppable at times. Plus he was much better built for the Big 12 than Guerrero. It wouldnt surprise me to find out that TMG was on steriods. But thats just a random thought that I had each time I saw his 18-year old body that was as built up from day 1 as it was.

Anyways, my point being that TMG was a 4-star MAA and Guerrero is a 3-star flashy highschool player that may not make much more impact than Jai Lucas if he tries to play in the Big 12. Wouldn't suprise me if he settled for somewhere like Florida International either now, or 2 years down the road after not cracking a KU or UT lineup.

That's all I needed to know right there. PASS!!!!!

Unlike when TMG came here...We actually have Newell and Blair on the team. We also have a lot of experience players here unlike when TMG was here. So it would be a lot easier to put Guerrero in his place than it would have been with TMG. Didn't really have a pg other than TMG and besides Crocker and Wright...Not a lot of maturity and guys with experience on that roster.
