ksSooner13 and I have several ideas planned, including:

- Walking around the Union next Monday and Tuesday, talking to anyone that will listen and trying to convince them to show up
- Try to get Fraschilla to make a YouTube video convincing students to show up.
- Before the game, ksSooner is going to stand at the entrance to the student section and talk to everyone about why they need to stand up and cheer the entire game.

We had about 500 students out tonight. The section was awful for the first 37 minutes, but great for the last three. We would like to have 800 students next week, and to have the whole section stand up and cheer the entire game. We're open to any and all idea for how to make this happen. This team deserves a good student section for the Baylor game, and we'd like to give them one.

Get the Banana guy to bring 100 of his friends who will bring the same energy.

I sent him a follow request on Twitter and plan on messaging him about bringing the floor seat chants to the lower bowl. Really we didn't have awful attendance tonight, but the lower bowl didn't stand and cheer until the last 3 minutes. Once they started I thought it got pretty loud. Just need that energy for 40 minutes next week.

are there any popular bands in Norman that could play in the parking lot of the LNC before the game? Maybe something like that would boost student attendance??

Pay them.

I'm not going to lie, we discussed something a la Free Beer Movement which involved people paying for a friend's ticket to try and get them into OU basketball, but then we decided it's pathetic that people think $5 is too much to pay for a single game ticket.

Get some better basketball on the floor.

+1

I was at the game tonight, in the student section. Tech is a terrible basketball team and tonight's game was about as un-watchable as any game I've seen this season. 46 fouls called tonight, which is absurd and totally took the crowd out of it. A ranked Baylor team by itself will bring more students and energy out IMO. We don't need to go into crisis mode over student support, just yet. It's getting better.

free white lightning T-shirts for all students who attend!!

Did any T Neal white lightning shirts ever make it to production? I would still pony up for one.

There were plenty of students there tonight. It was a better crowd than we have been getting for a terrible opponent, conference or not. I think the Baylor crowd will be a pleasant surprise.

This guy is awesome! On Saturday he won the banana suit (contest where you take a picture of the scoreboard and win whichever prize you capture) and stood and danced the entire game. There were probably just as many eyes on him as there were the players.

the athletic department should make student season tickets free until we have a good team. they need to let any student in who has an OU ID. Once we get better, then charge them the $5 per ticket deal. however, instead of issuing actual tickets make it so you just get your ID scanned and it reads that you have student tickets. the fact that you have to print your ticket off and keep up with it is a hindrance.

Free tickets. Free drawings.

Also, I think it would be pretty awesome if there was a giant student tailgating area that had free food with a ticket and you could BYOB obviously. Maybe get some student bands to play music, etc.

The people running The Top Daugs (formally the Capables) are still on this site, right? The student section was getting exciting with the face cut outs, costumes, etc.

That's myself (VP) and ksSooner13 (President). T_Neal's_Twitter retired from his previous position of President, but still stands with us in the front row. We are trying to get balloons, cardboard heads, and confetti for next week. The costume thing has sort of died out, but maybe it will pick up next week. I'm going to be wearing an interesting costume for Baylor...I'll just leave it at that.

A vast majority of the current (and future OU students) only know suckage when it comes to the product on the floor, why would you take time out to go support that if you're not a die-hard hoops fan? Attendance in CBB is directly proportional to the quality of play, save a few programs that are basketball schools.

If you want sell-outs, you have to get the fringe fans in the building which only comes from winning.
