Two of them were tough tips but the last one was a bunny ....
They played a good game ...

10 missed FT. 2 on purpose though... lots to build on...

We can play.

The bench played a good game. 4 of the 5 starters unfortunately did not.

I think you’ll see some lineup changes. Hill and Iwuakor are definitely two of our 6 best players. Maybe Our two most important defenders. Hill did not get scored on by a guard in the second half. When you put Gibson, Harmon, Harkless, Iwuakor, and hill on the floor at the same time, we are really good defensively.

Problem is we now play #s 2, 3, and 7 in our next three. Have to get over that hump in a hurry or we’ll be in a hole.

Six of those eight unintentional misses were Victor's. I'm not pointing a finger at him -- he had a very good game. But hopefully he can improve his free throw shooting.

There were so many drives when Harmon or Reaves got hammered with no whistle -- getting those calls would have made a big difference.

No doubt about it. But that lineup, except for Harmon and Gibson, is not too reliable offensively. Then again, Manek and Kuath were anything but reliable offensively in last night’s game. So, what could it hurt?

I’ll feel bad if I learn Manek was sick or injured last night. The announcers implied something had to be wrong with him. Unfortunately, what we saw was all too typical of the player we have seen from time to time over the years.

Brady is his own worst critic. He gets down on himself when his shots aren’t falling, and it affects every part of his game. Two points, two rebounds, 1 assist and 3 blocks is a horrible game for a player of his caliber. Brady is not a good defender. But he makes up for it with his usually reliable offense. Last night was one of those games were he took a look into his self-criticizing mirror and didn’t like what he saw. Too bad it was against a ranked team when we had a chance to come away with a win.

You're right -- thanks for the correction. I thought of that after I shut down my computer and went to bed last night and almost got up and edited my post, but I figured someone else would correct my mistake.

no worries ...

Did anyone think Vic was going to make both FT with 2.5 seconds left to tie the score.

I wouldn't have bet the rent money on it, but I was holding out hope. Stranger things have happened.

At least he didn't do the "I got this" and then proceed to clank the front end ala Khadeem Lattin in Lawrence.

Austin missing the front end of a 1-1 hurt along with his other missed free throw. He shoots well enough we need him to make them.
I was at the game but it seemed in first half Austin was fouled going up for a three and they gave us the ball out of bounds.

That was when he did the Durant rip move. You don't get free throws for that.

Agree with Coach. More positive that we can build on than negative. So, did Manek's girlfriend dump him? Anyone know what was on his mind, it surely wasn't basketball. Worst game ever for him. He was obviously distracted. Love the kid and think he is really good, but wow, he played bad.

Don't like our defensive theory of sage and run (at players shooting)

I wondered if maybe Manek was under the weather, but I suppose we'd likely have heard about that by now, if so. Definitely a rough outing for him (to say the least). Kruger showed some backbone, I think, by limiting his minutes (and Kuath's).

Really? I don't...I might be wrong but I don't remember lon every doing that.

He has changed starting lineups a lot the last few years. Ever since the FF team graduated, he has usually had a couple spots per season where he mixed things up depending on who is playing well.
