Hillbilly Ford - another typical season

Says a lot about the current state of OU basketball, when OU has been below Hillbilly Ford 3 years running. :(

Be thankful the hillbilly from Marquette is not coaching in Norman.

How long until the bigOSU starts hyping next season?

Oh this is classic.

OSU had their first losing season since the late 80s and you just finished your third helping in a row with another loss in the first round of the Big 12 tournament (something OSU has never done) to a pathetic aTm team, a game in which you were the favorites. Let us not forget Lubbock either.

We sucked a** too and had a crap season but you went from 9-1 to 15-16 by losing 15 of your last 21 games. Sounds like you have some coaching issues too then.

I think we should save all the trash talk till next season, both seasons were humiliating.

What is classic is the aggy fans defining their season in relation to big brother OU, posting on OU message boards. Man that inferiority complex runs deep.

Just seems like simple logic would dictate that the worst coach in the league wouldn't have any teams finish below him in the standings, let alone the same team 3 years in a row.

Says the guy constantly starting OSU threads on an OU board. Your obsession with OSU is scary.

I think I am going to go watch Flower Mound play tonight in the State Championship game. I don't get Boca's constant bashing of OSU. They are going to have some talent next year with Nash, Olukemi, Smart, Williams, Cobins, Cesar, Jurick, etc. They need another forward to step up but I think they will be substantially better next year.

I think both OK schools will be drastically improved. You guys return everyone and are adding quality depth, a problem that plagued both teams all season.

I don't think he's the worst coach in the league, but a lot of OSU fans posting on here give him wayyy too much credit.

You guys continually overlook the fact that each season, his program has continued to regress. Furthermore, the guy has won only 1 NCAA Tournament game, ever. Right now he certainly has been proven to be mediocre, at the very best.

If Capel was coaching the team, then this portion of your post would be completely understandable. However, its laughable to tie Kruger's disappointing season along with Ford's. Maybe in a couple more seasons this will be fair, but Kruger inherited a mess that I didn't foresee many coaches overcoming (at least to an extent better than Kruger this season). On the other hand, Ford got himself in this mess, and has no one to blame but himself.

No OSU fan is happy with or defending his on court product this year. He is getting his mulligan this season and finished the season with 6 schollie players. The roster next season looks damn salty on paper and he recruits. Next year is make it or break it and he will be gone if expectations arent reached IMHO.

If Ford was almost two decades older like your coach Im sure he would have more tournament wins. He is 42, not 60. And thats not a knock on Lon, Eddie came in to OSU about that age.

That's fair enough. I don't think OSU fans are "happy" with Ford's resume (though I do think there are a few that fail to admit how underwhelming of a career he's had as OSU's head coach). My point in the previous post was basically stating that Kruger and Ford's seasons were apples-to-oranges. Ford created his mess. Conversely, there isn't much else Kruger could have done with OU's mess he acquired. He doesn't deserve near as much blame for his disappointing season as Ford does.

I find this to be a huge misconception. It's not like Kruger struggled to win tournament games when he had the same amount of experience Ford currently has... Kruger had more NCAA wins his first six seasons as a head coach than Ford has ever had.

I guess that's my main beef I have with OSU fans coming on here regarding Ford, at this juncture... Quite a few have said, or at least implied, that the two coaches are basically on the same level. That is certainly not true.

I personally never get tired of Boca bashing the aggroids. :clap:p

I am very happy Ford is coaching again next year in Stoolwater. He had another super season.

Indeed.

This.

I can't wait until we have to hear about how incredible all the athletes at OSU are this coming November because I expect Ford to be even less of a players coach now that the one guy he seemed to get along with Page is gone.

I expect the fate of their incoming freshman to be similar to that of Reger Dowell, Teeng Akol, Roger Franklin, Ibrihima Thomas, Brad Garrett, Malcom Kirkland, Ray Penn, Jarred Shaw, Athony Brown, Torin Walker, Martavius Adams and "Fern" Gulley.
