Hornbeak to Monmouth

I'm sure Monmouth will run their offense through him and he will be the best player in the conference, according to some on here.

I'm sure they will. Still doesn't seem worth it, but whatever.

Looks like they have things rolling

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Monmouth University head men's basketball coach King Rice announced the departure of four student-athletes from the program, including sophomores forward Tyrone O'Garro (Newark, N.J.), guard Jalen Palm (Louisville, Kent.) and guard Christian White (Rochester, N.Y.) and freshman center Marcelo Ruediger (Natal, Brazil). All four players will transfer from the University in good standing.

Rice stated, "We wish these young men nothing but the best and they will always be a part of the Monmouth family."

O'Garro, who appeared in 63 games for the Hawks in his first two seasons, started 36 games and added 3.2 points and 4.9 rebounds a contest, while Palm and White combined to appear in 91 games. Ruediger made 24 appearances in his freshman season at MU.

Monmouth, which featured a roster of nine first-year players and no seniors in 2013-14, will return its top six scorers from this season, led by guards Deon Jones (Wilmington, Del.), Andrew Nicholas (Wrightsville, Pa.), Josh James (Greenburgh, N.Y.), Justin Robinson (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) and Max DiLeo (Cinnaminson, N.J.), who combined to average 51.8 points a game for the Hawks. The Hawks frontline also returns rising sophomores Zac Tillman (Yeadon, Pa.) and Chris Brady (Greenlawn, N.Y.), who combined to average 7.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

Monmouth received a commitment from 6-8 power forward Nikola Vujovic, who signed a National Letter of Intent during the early signing period. Vujovic is currently enrolled at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

The Hawks, who just completed their first season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, claimed the No. 9 seed in the league's 11-team postseason tournament.

He wanted playing time; looks as though he'll get it.

That move doesn't make any sense.

Oh well, best of luck to him.

Is there a chance that Dinjiyl Walker ends up being a better player for OU than Hornbeak? Time will tell. If Hornbeak had stayed at OU, we would have never heard of Dinjiyl Walker.

Sometimes, things work out. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, for Hornbeak at Monmouth, and for Dinjiyl Walker at OU.

As an OU fan, I favor players that want to be here. Dinjiyl Walker wants to be here.
