Every now and then you hear things like "this team had so and so and all these players, why didnt they win this or that or this many games"...

What is the threshold we are looking at with 3 Mcdonalds All-Americans, a four year starter, and top 100 talent backing everyone up? OU probably has 2 legit NBA players on roster, so that should be considered is as well.

Finish this sentence:

"Considering the amount of talent OU has, OU should win (blank) games, make it to the (blank) round of the Big 12 tournament, and make it to the (blank) round as a (blank) seed in the NCAA Tournament."

I'll bite.

"Considering the amount of talent OU has, OU should win 26 games, make it to the semi-final round of the Big 12 tournament, and make it to the third round as a 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament."

Finish this sentence:

"Considering the amount of talent OU has, OU should win 30 games, make it to the championship round of the Big 12 tournament, and make it to the Final Four as a #3 seed in the NCAA Tournament."

There we go. Gotta dream big.

25 games, semi-final of Big-12, Sweet Sixteen, four seed.

Anything above that is gravy.

Win 26 games, Top 4 seed in the Big XII, Sweet Sixteen - Those are my realistic expectations

I think this season may resemble alittle bit of OSU's season last year....struggle alittle early then late we start to hit our stride into the tourny

I say 25 games, top 3 league finish and at least Sweet 16.
To me how you play/finish in the Big 12 tourney is meaningless when measuring how the season went unless you win it and pick up another piece of hardware. Nobody remembers who got where just who won it.

I agree with this post. This is what our program should aspire to at a minimum each year if we are where we think we are in the grand scheme of things in the B12 and Nationally.

Big 12 Championship - 1 Win, One loss

So, OU should win 26 games. Make it to the semifinals of the Big 12 tourney. Make it to the Sweet 16, as a 4 seed.

until we win it all, i'll take the Sweet 16 in September every year almost no questions asked.

number of wins is less meaningful these days than 15 years ago when "20 wins" meant something.

I think 29 games. That is not remotely a strech counting the Big XII Tournament and the NCAA Tournament. Now I am not going to freak out if it does not happen but I truly believe 29 games is doable for this team.
