How many OU sucks post can we have?

Even when a team is winning, detractors will be around. I can remember when we were winning with Sampson and we had a large number of people complaining. The same can be said with Blake's 2nd year. We had people complaining when we won the pre-season NIT, so it's not fair to say people only complain when we lose. (you didn't say this but somebody else in the thread said something similar)

I know for me, I can remember when OU basketball was basically a nobody in the landscape of college basketball. No post-season appearances, a middle of the road Big 8 program which back then only 1 team from the Big 8 ever made the big dance. Then we start winning games and making post-season play, and eventually made a few final 4's with chances to win the NC. #1 seeds, Big 8/12 players/coaches of the year, Wooden award nominee's and finally a winner. Big 8 and Big 12 conference championships and tournament championships, beating teams at home by 20+ most every home game, etc.

So, to see the program fall to this level, which is the cellar of the conference, not even a middle of the road team. Losing to D-2 schools, and barely beating a team that was D-2 last year, with probably as many wins left in the season as I can count on 1 hand (I'm predicting no more than 8 wins overall this year). On top of this, we had an asst coach who was cheating to land players that cared about as much for OU as I care about the dirt on the bottom of my shoe. Our head coach, while he may not have known what was going on, was the reason we hired the asst. coach so his hands are dirty.

I just think those of us who whine and complain have valid reasons. When we had BG and advanced to the elite 8, I hardly complained one bit. I didn't like our defense and felt the team wasn't coached very well, but it's hard to argue with success. So, I should be allowed to complain about this craptacular product we've been forced to watch and if Capel is allowed to come back next year, I'm not sure what I'll do. But, I'll probably be back here complaining some more. If I could complain to Joe C, I would, but I can't so this has to do. My wife certainly doesn't want to hear it. LOL

Would like for their to be not 30 threads saying the same thing in different ways. Especially when most of us agree on it anyway. You can't get around it, we suck. But we have 10 "Fire Capel" Posts, and 10 we have no talent posts. Now I know we have a "grab your torches and pitchfork" guy that likes to get the crowd going, but the truth of the matter is were down. But I'll tell you this. We'll be back strong. I don't know if it will be under capel or not, but we'll be back. And when that happens, the pitchfork guys will go back to doing what they usually do, sunshine pumping for bad teams. To bad they don't sunshine pump for this bad team....

And I know, some people have motives to do it, but a lot of it is just frustration by people. We can't change the past. I'm not going to be a Capel apologist and I don't think anyone here is. But the thing that made this board good was it had knowledgable basketball fans. Now with OU being bad, it seems as if it's turned into a mini version of OUinsiders after a football loss.

I vote that we should have to pass a basketball IQ test before signing up to OUHOOPS!!
