Does anyone know if James Hale is alright. I am a bit worried about him because he has been covering basketball lately. ;)

He has another story on Cousins. He is doing a good job lately. If any of you consider a pay site, I would actually recommend OUinsider.

ESPN Insider, which gives you access to OUNation is 10x better than any other OU pay site.

I would much rather pay some local guys in Oklahoma than ESPN. I own a small business and do business with small businesses to the extent reasonably possible.

James Hale and OUI have made too many mistakes for too many years to get my money. I like "getting my money's worth", and that is something I never felt happened over there. LOVE my subscription to ESPN. Not only get OU info, but info for ALL sports, at all levels, world wide. Pretty awesome.

They lost me and a whole bunch of other people during the latest move fiasco to the 24/7 site.

The ouinsider from 5 years ago was one of the best team sites in the history of team sites. Great conversation and lots of good information even if you didn't want to pay for the premium stuff because so many people who had an "in" to the program (mainly football) posted there. Kind of like chewy here the previous 2-3 years, but multiple chewy's.

I'll never again give James Hale or Brian Bishop any of my money.

Agreed... I really miss Dale Rich. And I'm serious.

It seems like the best way to get insider information is to just follow people on twitter. I don't follow it (it's follow right?) but that seems to be where the cutting edge information is.

The only good thing about that move was the entertainment value the announcement and subsequent verbal fisticuffs it provided, from a comic relief standpoint.

I was a subscriber for years until recently. What drove me away was the deleted threads. I was tired of marking a thread to read later and then when I went to go read the thread, it was deleted. It is one thing to close the thread but to delete in this day and age of the internet is just not right.

Hale's info was very good but he violated another pet peeve of mine, misspelling. I bet he never proofreads his stuff.

I rarely go over there anymore so I don't know what they're doing, but good for James if that's the case.

I really like Sooner Nation, although their forums are dead. Their team coverage is really good and their recruiting stuff is getting better.

Sooner Scoop would be great if they amped up their basketball recruiting coverage, but I can see why it's not a top priority for them at this time.

The one thing that annoys me about the premium sites is the chest pumping over breaking news, and then the excuses when they don't.

Wow, I've been an ESPN Insider for years but never knew this existed. I just checked it out and wow, I'm impressed!

Thanks for the heads up!

You can also read the other team site's too. Like HornsNation.com. etc. You just can't read the other teams' boards. I got in for $33 for the year plus you get ESPN Magazine.

Huuuum! I may have to give SoonerNation a try. I didn't realize their premium memberships were so cheap.

They were having a sale a few weeks, maybe months, ago and I got in for $20 which includes a subscription to ESPN the magazine as well. Well worth the $20 IMO.

I got it with the ESPN mag as well. The value is pretty nice. SoonerNation has written some of the better basketball article lately.

Denver - How can you consider OUI a local business after they joined 24/7? Doesn't that make them just like SoonerNation? A group of local reporters on a national service.

I actually got the ESPN subscription without even knowing about SoonerNation. Stumbled upon it a while back. GREAT setup, IMO. Lacking on the forums, but that just keeps things on topic. I get a lot of good info from them, and when you respond to the reporters, they actually give you timely, honest answers. I couldn't be happier.

If the quality of comments on ESPN articles is any indication, I think the lack of a forum isn't a big loss.
