im not saying that at this point we are going to go to the tournament. i wouldnt be shocked though if we made the NIT. If we make the NIT i would see the season as a huge success. im living on the assumption that we sign 2/3 more. one pg and a couple pf/cs. I think the bigggest difference we will see is early in the yr. i dont think youll see us losing to these nobodies. i think cam and tj will lead us talent wise. also we will have pledger who i think will have his stroke back. then we have cade who will be our emotional leader. i think we are VERY solid at sg/sf spots. we have one good pf hopefully 2. if we can sign a few more bodies i think we can get 17 wins although most would be nonconference...

just my opinion

If we sign a decent PG and a decent big man, I will agree with you. If we don't, I just don't think we'll have the players. We'll be too short-handed.

The key is Tiny. With him our post depth actually will not be that bad, particularly if we could land Thompson or a similar JUCO big. However if Tiny isn't back, our post depth is going to be absolutely horrible. But let's assume Tiny IS back. There is some talent on this roster:

Cade Davis - rock solid, proven contributor
Tiny Gallon - McDonald's All American
Steven Pledger - #121 in Rivals' 2009 top 150
Andrew Fitzgerald - #70 in Rivals' 2009 top 150
Cameron Clark - #30 in Rivals' 2010 top 150
T.J. Taylor - #91 in Rivals' 2010 top 150

If we could have those players returning/coming in and add 1 solid JUCO PG and 1 solid JUCO big man in the late period, we could easily exceed last year's win total.

Why do people continue to hold onto this false hope? Didn't yesterday's press conference clinch it for you guys?

I didn't hear anything in yesterday's news conference that convinced me there is no chance that Tiny comes back.

I doubt he will be back but his status isn't as clear as you think it is.

No. Capel said he is practicing with the team right now and hasn't made up his mind. How would that clinch it?

I give it about a 30% chance that he's back. If the NCAA investigation says he's clear then I think it's an 80% chance he comes back. He already declared that he's coming back. The only thing stopping him right now is the NCAA and that still up in the air.

No, Capel said he has a high ankle sprain and isn't practicing with the team. Did you even listen to his press conference? Furthermore, why is Tiny weighing his options all of a sudden? He's not even a second round prospect. Didn't he say definitively after the season that he would be back? The logical conclusion is that the results of the internal investigation are going to reveal that Tiny took money and he will have no choice but to leave.

We better improve...i know we are losing some high profile guys, but we should be a much better team...

If Tiny isn't back I fail to see any possible way we will be a "much better" team. We'll essentially be taking a knife to a gun fight all year long.

don't kid yourselves, this team is going to be BAD next year. 11th or 12th place in the Big 12.

It's not always about wins and losses...we can be a much better team than last year without Tiny...

You are counting on 2 true freshman? Good grief. No WW, TMG and Crocker.

I'm not sure what I'm "counting on" them for. All I said is that we could have some talented players on the roster. Does that mean we're headed to the sweet 16? No.

forget the sweet 16, do you think OU will win 16 games next year?

If Tiny is back, I think 16 is possible, although that would be the glass ceiling. If he's not back, it wouldn't surprise me to see us struggle to hit the 10 win mark.

I think what we need to look for next year is progress. If the team gets better and plays as a team and we don't have another set of discipline problems/arrests then I will consider us "better" even with the same record. That being said I have already said that if we make it to .500 by the end of the season that will be a successful season.
