Bryanna Fenstrom who started nine games has left the team. Replaced by Burkhall. Was averaging 9.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg

Last year, it was the Nikki Moody/Brynn Williamson show that beat us in Ames. Moody scored thirty against us in Norman as she schooled our guards. Peyton and Sharane played pretty well in Ames, as did Maddie.

Usually, Iowa State has been tall, giving us some problems with 6-4 three point shooters. This year, Iowa State only shoots 31.4% from three, and allows 34.7%. Carlton, Buckley, and Burkhall can hit the three. Iowa State has been outrebounded in conference play.

TCU beat them in Ames by holding them to 30.8% shooting, 24.1% from three. They were even on rebounding, 47-46.

Kay Kay and Vivi won't have a 6-6 post in front of them.

Seems like Coale usually has a tough time winning at ISU. However, the next 4 games look winnable if we play up to our ability. That gets us to the Fexas game on valentines day. No prediction on that one right now.

How serious do you think Maddie's injury is?

If it keeps Maddie from playing in Ames, it is serious. I doubt that they would have held her out against WV if it weren't serious. She tends to play well against WV, and the tend to rattle guards. I was concerned when she didn't come back in against Texas with the game within three.

I don't know how serious it is, but I noticed on TV that she wasn't wearing a boot and was dressed out for the game. Did anyone who was at the game notice if she participated ikn warmups?

I also know that she gets a big family + friend turnout when playing in Ames, so it would be a big bummer to her personally if she can't play.

When they said she was "day to day" that indicated she will be back soon. I suspect she will play at ISU.

Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention when they were warming up before either half but she did appear to be walking gingerly, even though it wasn't a full limp. It was foot injury that occurred at the end of TX game and I can't remember if she played after that injury or not. But you are correct, she was not wearing a boot.

Maddie AND Shaya! Shaya is from Ames!

Maddie did not play after the foot was injured. Since we pulled to within three of Texas late, I was certain that it was severe enough to prevent further injury, or I think that is a situation in which we would have wanted Maddie and T'Ona in the game. They had been involved in both of the last minute wins.

Of course! I didn't mean to exclude Shaya. I'm just worried about Maddie.

I'm not too far from the bench and noticed that she was walking a little cautiously but didn't seem to have a limp. I don't remember if she was in warm ups either, but I agree with Norm, I think she will be back for Ames.

Iowa State is 0-4 since their starting center, Fernstrom (6'5") decided to transfer. Her replacement, Burkhall (6'3") is a true freshman.

They really only play 7 players. One Sr., One Jr., Two So., and Three F. Two of the freshmen start and they are both true freshmen (Carleton & Burkhall).

Johnson and Carleton are the top two scorers and rebounders on the team.

Blaskowsky is having a horrible year. From the stats, I'd guess that she just sits on the 3pt line and chucks up shots. She's only hitting 31.1%.

Johnson takes the most shots and shoots almost twice as many free throws as anyone else.

Although they don't take a lot of 3pt shots, we need to pay attention to Carleton and Buckley when they're out there.

On paper, they look very beatable.
