I think these guys are worse than the 0-16 A&M team...

Great minds, abd... I came here to pose this exact question.

After last night, I'm confident that this Tech team can match that infamous A&M team's 0-16.

I'm trying to remember... was Acie Law a freshman on that team? Seems like they had at least a few players who ended up being pretty good once they got an actual coach there...

Acie Law and James Jones?

Acie Law and Antoine Wright were on that team, I think.

Iowa State, Nebraska, Colorado and Baylor have all had some pathetic teams.

According to the kenpom ratings, though, this year's Texas Tech team is by far the worst in the past ten seasons (in the 260s, about 70 spots lower than the next worst team in that period). They might rise as the season progresses (I don't know how or if SOS factors into his ratings), but as of now, they're the worst.

According to Sagarin, they're still the worst, although that one definitely factors in SOS. A handful of teams will probably end up worse as TT's SOS rises.

The 0-16 team wasn't even the worst in the Big 12 that year in the Sagarin ratings or on kenpom.

I'm not sure if this Tech team has a guy that could start anywhere else in the Big 12. They are extremely bad.

Uhhh, tech not the worst any more. Pathetic. Do we have one guy who is a legitimate D1 starter?

You cant be the worst team in Big 12 history if you go 1-17. The ONE team in conference that got dominated by 20 points for Tech's 8th win of the season in mid February while being ranked in the 200+'s of the RPI is the team you have to question.

Dude, this thread was started almost two weeks ago, and there was good reason to pose the question.

No need to be a jerk.

On top of all this, Tech only played 5 scholarship players last night and beat OU by 20. Its pretty confusing, really.

it's not real confusing really. we thought we could half ass it and still beat them b/c of how horrible they are. And we played horrible bball b/c of it. Plus shooting under 35% doesn't help.

+1

Personally, I think the latter was the biggest problem, though. Bad teams can look pretty good when they make shots and good teams can look bad when they miss shots. If Pledger were to have one of his better efforts in Lubbock (like he had in Ames last year), we win that game by double-digits. I use him as an example, and because he's the only player we have who is capable of "going off" (like that).

Once they started not being able to buy a bucket, the attitude went into the crapper.
