Is This Rock Bottom For the Program?

I get what you're saying, but we are stuck in purgatory. This program isn't going to get better under the guidance of that jackass....he's had almost 4 years and we are right back where we started. We can't let fear of the unknown/future dictate not making a change because it may be worse in the short term. If we find the right guy(s), we can turn it around quickly in this day and age....it happens at a lot of places.
I sure hope you're right. I agree we can't let fear of the unknown determine a decision.

We can absolutely turn the thing around on a dime. It'll just take another coach to do it. Too much negative energy for Porter to overcome.

Am I wrong to feel like I'd rather keep losing these games so we have an excuse to fire moser for a new coach? Rather than have to ride the porter moser train every year? I am convinced that anybody can be a better coach in conference play than Moser has been so far. Very disappointing.

Don’t feel guilty about feeling that way. It’s plain as day that he has dragged the program into the gutter. The tourney isn’t even a real possibility at this point, so whatever leads to him getting fired is what needs to happen. Joe may be clueless enough to keep him if he sneaks out two or three meaningless wins.

Yes, agreed. It absolutely can be turned around. In this day and age with rosters turned over every year it can happen very fast.

I will never root for OU to lose but..

Honestly I kind of feel bad for the guy. Unless he's laughing with his wife at home over the fact that he's bilking a prestigious athletic university of millions. He needs to negotiate or waive the buyout and get the heck out of here as soon as possible for all parties. Hopefully the agreement is for right after the last game and wheels are turning and feelers out for the new guy... Hopefully Joe C has some help this time.

I agree. If Joe C doesn’t fire him and he doesn’t resign asap then I will have serious doubts about his aspersions as a coach going forward. Complacency can affect anyone in any profession.

I think the reason this season feels bad compared to actual bad teams is that in those years we knew it was a bad year.

In 2010 we may have had high hopes, but when we lost games in Alaska to mid and low majors, we had a pretty good idea where it was headed and there was no false hope given at any time.

In 2011 it was obvious from the outset that the team was garbage.

In 2017, we lost so much talent it was inevitable we wouldn’t be as good. Woodard also got hurt and we weren’t wondering about making the tournament for long.

But this year, and really in two of the past three as well, we’ve had a great start and reason for hope. And when the losses pile up in conference season we keep thinking, hoping, praying that we will win the next X out of Y games to make the tournament. Even if the recent results seem to make that impossible, we remember we beat High Major State and High Major U and think that the next wins could be right around the corner. But they don’t come. We get embarrassed at home when there’s a big crowd there, we get embarrassed by the size of the crowd after that, we get embarrassed on the road in a must win. The cycle continues yet we still hope. Our dreams can’t be crushed until the season is finally, mercifully over. That’s what makes these seasons so tough.

Ughhh.. He talked to Joe c BEFORE the game and thinks joe c was not looking to make a change. I think that might put me on the cheering for losses to force joe c's hand.

Joe c is literally the worst in the nil era.
BMDs are holding their cash for Brent's buyout.

Our best hope is for Porter to take another job and for us to waive all or part of the buyout.

I know they had a meeting previously this year where they discussed pm's future.. it must not have made much of an effect on Joe C.

Was this a BMD meeting? Was it during our losing streak with upset BMDs or do you have any other inside info on this?

Curious, bc the when where and why seem to matter. Especially if Joe C ignores their concerns
