You recruit (talent & character), you coach (improvement), you win, you fill seats (support), you build a program!!!

It is really that simple.

Apparently not.

At what point does OU improve facilities to improve recruiting? The LNC is a dump compared to other places nationally.

I was thinking about the LNC compared to just about any other venue in college basketball. If we would've pulled a shocker today, it would be a weird sight to watch our fans try to rush the court.

I understand OU is a football school.

However, have you read anywhere Stoop's comments about the state of the program upon his arrival??

A one year wonder into the elite 8 on the back of the BEST college basketball player isn't going to do it alone.

You have to provide some consistency. Coale is doing her part. I believe if the Men's Basketball program wasn't in this state, plans for the LNC would be different.

I disagree. LNC is a decent basketball venue. OSU fans constantly bag on the LNC and that creeps in to our perception, but no other visiting team fan base thinks LNC is a bad venue.

Win some games, fill it up and it's a top 10-20 arena.

I was waiting for the LNC is a dump post, just another excuse to cloud the truth..Go Sooners!!!!!!!!!

Oh, you can win there no question. Is there room for a lot of improvement?? Tons.

However, Castiglione is going to need the support to get that to happen. Right now, it isn't even in the picture.

35 years old according to soonersports.com. I agree it isn't the worst arena. Maybe someone that has been to most of the Big 12 arenas could rate it. I can't recall many prospects that boast about LNC's atmosphere and I thought I heard that the locker rooms were crap.

Wow! Didn't know it was that old.

In dog years that would make it 235 years old. It was originally designed to be an all purpose arena. It has to go.

It was built in mid to late 70s as it was built because of Alvan Adams if I know my Sooner lore correctly.

Close. Alvans teams were consistently filling the old field house and they had to get a new building because the fans were coming. They probably would have built a new arena within the next 10 years anyway because the field house is really old, really small, and no place to expand it.
