It's official: Ernie Kent is out at Oregon

Oregon's next loss will reportedly be the last for Ernie Kent with the Ducks.

The embattled coach told his players he will not return to Eugene next season, a source told The Oregonian on Tuesday.

I wouldn't hire Carlesimo if my life depended on it. Hopefully, they will take Turgeon...I'm tired of looking at him and listening to him. He whines too much.

This could be a job that Few actually considers given it's in the Pacific Northwest. He has turned down other jobs in the past because he didn't want to leave that area.

I can promise you Eugene is a much better place than Spokane. Much closer to Seattle (2-3 hours) whereas Spokane is every big of 5 hours. Probably could recruit better, too, but he's got a good deal at Gonzaga. They support their team very well.

Eugene and Spokane are the same distance from Seattle (4.5 hours)

Few's got a great deal at Gonzaga, but they have underperformed in the NCAA tournament, maybe he needs a change of scenery.

Eugene is a good 2 hours south of Portland.

I would take the Oregon job if I were him....great money, new arena, larger recruiting base, etc.

But that doesn't diminish the Gonzaga job, which is a great gig for him.
