I think it will be:

PG: Grooms
SG: Clark
SF: Osby
PF: Fitzgerald
C: Arent

Interesting. I wonder if he got some really good vibes regarding Arent from his sources.

More importantly, he needs to handle the ball better.

My Guess is:
Blair
Pledger
Clark
Osby
Fitz

Grooms backs up Blair
Newell backs up Pledger
Neal backs up Clark
Washington backs up Osby
Arent backs up Fitz

Yep.

When Fitz gets tired or in foul trouble, if Arent is good enough, you can play him at the 5 and we have a more traditional looking lineup. Same with Osby. He goes out, hopefully you can slide Fitz to the 4, and Arent at the 5. Washington plays the 2nd big off the bench. That is my hope.

I really don't see Hale's prediction starting. Clark's biggest asset is his quickness at that size. You play him against 2's, and they will be just as quick. Same with Osby. He isn't nearly as athletic going against 3's, as he would be against 4's.

Hardly anybody plays big lineups anymore. If you aren't playing a traditional looking lineup, chances are you are going small. Not helping Arent's chances of starting are that he won't be on campus early.

I really have no idea on who starts at PG and SG. Hope there are some good battles. I really hope that Pledger makes a big jump with this new staff.

I am almost positive that Cam, Romero and Fitz will start....

Me too.

I think Grooms can overtake Blair. But also think Pledger could stick in the lineup... he would be a nice shooting option off the bench though.

Pg: Grooms/Blair
Sg: Pledger
Sf: Clark
Pf: Osby
PF: Fitz

I hope everyone gets held accountable for production on both offense and defense. I don't see what the rotation is going to be...But I never understood Capel's rotation either, however we will have more depth.

The question is going to be who starts at the (pg), everything else should fall the way I have it listed. This line-up gives you proven scoring, more rebounding and better defense.

This is one prediction I agree with, although I'm not so sure Fitz will start if he doesn't improve his rebounding and learn to play defense without getting in foul trouble. If Arent can score and play defense, his ability to rebound could very well give him the edge.

It will be interesting to see what happens when competition gets underway in practice this fall. None of us really know what to expect. But I have to believe that an old school coach like LK will place a premium on fundamentals such as blocking out on the boards, moving your feet on defense and avoiding unforced turnovers, like dribbling the ball off of your foot.

I could be wrong, but I don't think our new coach will be nearly as tolerant in allowing a player to make basic mistakes and continue to start as if nothing ever happened. To be honest, I'm ready to see some tough love for a change!

My educated guess would be a starting line-up for game one of:

1: Blair
2: Pledger
3: Clark
4: Osby
5: Fitzgerald

But we will see a lot of Fitzgerald at the 4 with Arent at the 5, and Osby at the 3.

Not disagreeing, necessarily; but wasn't Clark at or near the top of the conference for fewest turnovers among full-time players?

I like the first 4 of this starting 5. I hope Arent can be the starting 5, but until we see him play it's hard to say if he is good enough to start right away.

As I said before, this is how I would go. I would like to get out to an early lead because of rebounding on the D end. Then have Fitz come in and score on the weaker second string bigs.

Comments from Aren't after committing indicate that OU told him they want to move Fitz to PF.

I don't know what to think of this lineup. Clark at the 2 is intriguing, but it would be more effective if you had a great shooter at PG. Where is the shooter in this lineup? Not that Pledge or Newell have been consistent shooters either, though.

Plus, relying on a newcomer in the middle = lots of foul trouble. We may start these 5, but Fitz will be back at the 5 spot often, meaning Osby to 4, Clark to 3, and SP or CN back in the lineup.

Bright side is, if Aren't is capable, we have many lineup options to play around with.

I would be elated if Casey is good enough to come in here and start from day 1 because I don't think Kruger would put him in there if he couldn't rebound and defend.

My issue with penciling him in at the 5 is that the guy played a lot outside in JUCO and went up against smaller players. I'm not sure if he is ready to bang yet.
