Jamuni McNeace Part II

Love his energy and enthusiasm. He and Lattin just love to play.

LK has thought he has great potential for two years. I believe he will be correct. Obviously needs to continue building strength.

Yeah, that is my biggest concern. Seems really pretty frail compared to the average Big 12 5/4

He has the coordination of someone much shorter. That, along with with hand size, good basketball posture and jumping ability indicates a very high ceiling. He's got the frame to add thirty pounds of muscle and, if he does so, he'll be a blocking machine.

It doesn't really matter to me who starts but seems like Buford and he deserve the biggest looks right now to see if one of them can get comfortable in there pretty quickly. We really need someone to step up pretty quickly at this spot. I'd like it to be McNeace or Lattin based on size depending on what happens with Manyang.

I think it's pretty obvious after 3 games that the attention McNeace was getting as a possible starter has more to do with Lattin's lack of improvement (or whatever you want to call it), then it does improvement from McNeace.

Our bigs need to get better. Buford and Spangler can't play all the minutes, and are an undersized pair to begin with. One of Lattin/McNeace needs to be significantly better than either currently is.

Agreed. Lattin/McNeace both work very hard, get good coaching and have high-level athleticism for their size. This combination should pay off sometime. We do need one of them to breakthrough later this season. The sooner the better.
