Capel was able to get the name players. Unfortunately most of them didn't work out too well. But I give him some credit for recruiting.
On the negative side I never saw any evidence that he could put together a good offense. Blake overpowered that problem for one year and then back to normal.
I also thought he should have done a better job of keeping the good players Sampson got before he left. I know players leave after a coaching change but we would have been a lot better had he retained Scotty Reynolds and that guy from Texas.
Finally I felt he lost control of the team. Lot's of internal dissention.
However, a guy can learn and change. Question is does he have the real leadership qualities. Didn't show it at OU.
