Jelon out

University of Oklahoma head men's basketball coach Lon Kruger announced Tuesday that sophomore Je'lon Hornbeak will miss approximately four to six weeks due to a broken bone in his left foot.

Man tough break. That will put him out of the beginning of conference season at least. As much as he has had this injury already it might take longer than that, or at least a pretty good chance of a re injury. He hasn't had the greatest year so far, but ball handling worries me now when Woodard is out.

Not sure what drill it is that is breaking everyone's feet, but dump it! Hahahaha :facepalm

Big time bummer. Hopefully Booker will step up in the mean time, and Jelon will be back strong in time for the stretch run.

But in the mean time we are perilously thin pretty much everywhere. Really only three reserves we can count on.

I'm most concerned with the impact of Cousin having to play more point and at the two. He is a different player at the point and it is not better.

Can any of the walk-ons play even a couple of minutes a game? isn't one of them a really good three point shooter?

Expect a lot of cousins he'll need te time at pg , Woodard will play a ton in conf play. We'll need cousins at pg.

Austin Mankin can play some. He is a 6'7" tweener type. He is a decent ball handler and has a good shot out to the 3 pt. line. He has gotten a lot of practice reps with the 2's and has been getting to go to team film sessions. But, he hasn't yet proved out to be a high D1 talent.

At least they have time to work with the new rotation before conference starts.

This is the bigger take away from the injury, Cousins at the 1. He was starting to settle in at the 2. I know Jelon hasn't done anything spectacular this year but he has been steady as the backup 1. Been very calming when Woodard has been a bit off.

We need to look no further than Cousins 8 turnovers against Mason. Woof.

I don't care how much they cost. Throw those danged shoes in the trash! :facepalm

Bummer. That's gonna hurt.

Man, OU football and basketball have sure fought the injury bug in recent years.

Neal has been playing pretty good this year hopefully he can continue to step it up and Booker has to start hitting 3s. At least we didnt lose any of the 5 starters in particular Spang Cam or Buddy or jordan. It still will sting badly!
