No Doubt!!!! The sauce was hideous( we called it Kotex sauce when we made it), but the 2-fer pizzas and the crazy bread kept alot of students alive!!!:woot

I worked there from 85-87, left OU in 88.

You know, none of us have a clue what Joe C. is doing as far as getting a coach for the University of Oklahoma. To me that's a good thing. I will say this much about him, I'm not one who believes that everything he touches turns to gold. After all, he is the one who hired Capel and if I remember right, he also hired a baseball coach that didn't come across as a smooth hire. I'm content to wait and see how this one turns out before I have a solid opinion of what kind of leader Joe C. is.

I don't see how this is a good thing at all.

Did you watch Joe's press conference on soonersports.com when he announced the firing of JC?

Once a person starts rolling his/her credits about how much money they contributed, or how long they have attended games, I have learned to stop reading right there, and pay that glory seeker no attention.

I have seen several posters this season who act like they deserve to have a greater voice, or to be taken more seriously because of their self-proclaimed contributions. Did you give or attend because you were a fan, or because you wanted to earn whiner points??

What happened to supporting the school that you love, simply because you love it?? What happened to being fans instead of cry-babies who threaten to take their ball and go home when things don't go their way?? What happened to allowing the people who make the decisions, to make the decisions??? Everyday I'm understanding better why my best friend who I attended OU with, wants nothing to do with Sooner message boards. Getting close to that same sentiment myself, and that is really sad......

I have missed your voice of reason around here...

I don't think they have strawberry fanta, but they should start selling "Big Red". That is by far the best red soda pop you will ever have. Bar none.

And, it's a natural fit because of it's name to be sold at our games.

well crap...

there we go having one thing in common ;)

I LOVE BIG RED! That and Chocolate Soldiers.

Wait, what? I didn't know they had Strawberry Fanta at the games. I've been missing out.

at $4 a bottle, i wouldn't consider you to be missing out. but if you feel like you are, they have orange and strawberry at the concession by the exhibits/coaches offices.

I think this thread is going to look funny when we hire our new coach...

who the **** is a "big name"?

what is wrong with you people anway? let's hire a good coach and quit worrying about your water cooler arguments.

I will agree with that. The chosen coach has to have a good enough rep to bring in some quality recruits. He has to be able to win in the Big 12 and get us to the NCAA and be competitive once we get there. If he does both of those fans will follow.

So I don't know what a "big name" is either. Good recruits have to believe that our coach can win at OU with them on the team in order to bring them in. So by the same token the recruits' parents and influential friends have to believe that, too, to some extent. Capel had that for a while. It was gone at the end of his stay here.

I strongly agree with what I think you mean but there is a flip side to the overly important donor type posts. Posts coming from people who have little or no use for basketball tickets, even when they live in the metro. Many can afford to go to football games, others don't even bother with that but for basketball they only have opinions on message boards and talk radio. They love to play the blame game with arrogant football type expectations. Unfortunately all opinions look the same on a computer.
