Julius Randle Chooses...

are you serious??? Thompson would be a disgrace if that was the 2nd best player we brought in. Oh wait, Thompson was in a recruiting class of 6, not 2. We could afford to take a chance.

It seems you fail to understand the entire story sometimes. The reason we brought in Arent is because we had 3 post players..Osby, Fitz and the juco kid from Stringtown. The previous coach was such a stellar recruiter he left us with nothing and he had no plans to sign anybody because nobody wanted to come here. So, calling Arent the "2nd best" recruit is nuts. He was just another body to help take minutes as the season went along.

And, Thompson was in a class of 6 because we had players leaving the program, we were going on probation, and again nobody wanted to come play at the dumpster fire known as OU basketball. Enter Thompson and Neal and whoever else was in that loaded class.

No one is saying OU shouldn't recruit these players. We are saying that if they DON'T choose OU then we don't want them in the Conference. Can you not read?

He can read, it's the comprehension he is lacking.

You can't seriously believe that.

That this was the year to do it...YESSSS. ISU couldn't beat them and they had them. TCU beat them. KSU couldn't get it done.

This is the worst team that KU has had under Self. And if you don't believe that statement...tell me the one team that you would take over them.

Kruger took back Goff's scholarship just to give it to Arent

Grooms, Arent, and M'Baye

The worst team under Self was the 2009 team that got lucky BG was injured when we played them and they won the conference by 1 game, when we finished 13-3 in conference. Not to mention they only played us once that year and only played the other south teams 1 time. Had we played a full round-robin schedule, we win the conference that year.

Goff has been stellar this year too...averages 3.6 rebounds and 5.7 points for a 13-19 basketball team. Arent could probably beat him in 1-on-1 too.

Goff wasn't going to class and barely became eligible. Kruger couldn't afford to wait for some overrated kid who may or may not qualify, he needed able bodies who were willing to work and do things the right way (GO TO CLASS).

I'm a fan of basketball...I don't like watching big 12 lose schools like Missouri and replace them with a TCU team. talk about horrible competition(whether they beat us or not)

We lost Missouri and replaced them with WVU - a better basketball program.

We replaced A&M with TCU - both terrible programs.

refresh my memory...did W.V. have a losing record or was it Missouri this year. who's in the tournament this year?

WVU has more final 4's but I'm not sure I would say their program is better than Mizzou's. Mizzou caused more excitement but that's probably due to the longstanding rivalry/series from being conference foes for so long.

The SEC coaches have all raved about playing at Mizzou. They say it's the 2nd best home environment only UK is better in the SEC. I will agree losing them was a negative to the conference, but it was Mizzou's own fault and I think they would come back to the Big 12 tomorrow if they could.

your telling me that the Team of Aldrich, the Morris Twins, Tyshawn Taylor, Sherron Collins, and an actual bench is worst than this years KU team?

I don't get how you guys can be so excited that Randle is going to Kentucky over 2 Big 12 schools.

The best kids out of Texas are leaving to go to a different conference. Harrison Twins, Randle to Kentucky, Jones to Duke, Mickey to LSU, Frazier most likely going to either aTm or SMU.

Randle going to Texas or Kansas doesn't make our team any worse or better...it just makes what Kentucky is doing even harder to stop.

Oh ya? What they're doing? Losing in the first round of the nit to Robert Morris?

Just b/c KU may not be up to par with some other great KU teams, doesn't mean they still aren't a darn good team. This isn't the 2002 OU roster. That OU team would have finished above KU. Don't forget, this KU team still managed to play Michigan St. to within 3 points, beat STL, beat KSU three times, and beat some other NCAA-bound teams. Every ranking and computer poll has them as a top 10 team.
