K.D. was at OU's game today and now

Rick Pitino went to his son's game in Minnesota this year...couldn't have been a much different scenario from scheduling perspective.

I like K.D. I think he is a good role model and an excellent basketball player. i have no problem with him being a UT fan. He should be a UT fan. Imagine if he played a season at OU and wasn't an OU fan. The OU fans would be hurt and bash on a regular basis.

Grandstaff seemed to be impressed by him being there. I would say that benefits the program.

The bigger question I had, as a TU alumni/fan, is why the heck was Danny Manning there?

I've watched a lot of college basketball over the years, and I'm not sure I've ever seen a current head coach (in a non-tournament setting) attend a game of two other teams. Especially two teams he won't be playing this year.

Seems like he should have been home recruiting, working on game plans, or something different then what he was doing.

Is this some kind of trick question?

Danny Manning is one of the biggest names in KU basketball history, he was coaching at KU before he took the job at Tulsa.

This might be a minor point, his son Evan plays for Kansas.

Actually that is a huge point.

I did not know that, and now have no problem with it.

Sorry, but simply being a big name in that team's history isn't reason enough. It's something I have literally never seen, outside of tournaments, and upon being corrected above, coaches going to see their sons play/coach other teams. That makes sense.

I'm sorry but any coach with the history that Danny Manning has with Kansas, is good friends with the head coach and is only an hour away to watch a two hour game, son or no son, he going to go to the game if he doesn't have another obligation. He certainly wasn't going to be on the road recruiting when he is playing for the conference the next day at home.

I really don't see how someone could have a problem with it. Seems perfectly normal to me.

Danny Manning blows...

Have never heard KD say anything negative about OU, aside from obviously the fact that he is a UT fan and acknowledges them as a rival.

People get so epically butthurt about the UT connection.

Some OU fans just don't want to cheer for a shorthorn, just like they don't want to cheer for an aggie. Why is this so hard for some OU fans to grasp?
