agreed. but, you know, if you can keep your players heads up and get them to take it as a learning experience that can sure be a nice to way build an athletic department budget. Seems to me that it would be a decent selling point in recruiting also. good for them! didnt Lon start off there as a grad assistant??

exactly! If you could get your guys in the right frame of mind for it ... what a boon to a small school! I think it was UMBC years back - they were just getting pummeled night in and night out for years in non-conference and the coaches were smiling and the guys were in a very good place. One coach explained they were playing the best players in the country at the best schools and the facilities were better than anything they had plus their department was getting huge infusions of money for it ... if they could just bear the travel.

On the other hand, it'll be the Gorillas' second game and KSU's first. That likely won't make a huge difference, I know, but it could have a little impact.

I'm not sure I've heard of a school that used "gorillas" as its team name. I like it.

Central Michigan Chippewas
Earlham Hustling Quakers
South Dakota State Jackrabbits

Pitt St is the only college in the county with the Gorillas nickname. I think it's a great name, much better than some of the generic ones that dozens of schools have.

Ksu won 79-39... They shot horribly from 3 otherwise would have been 90+ to 39.

Pitt State was equally as bad (7 of 29) from three point range.

As an aside, K-State didn’t shoot well from the free throw line (46%) either. First game jitters maybe.
