No more softy Big XII North for Kansas in basketball that padded their record.

It won't be long before Kansas fans will be whining about the Big XII being all about Texas just like Nebraska football fans before they ran away with their tail between their legs.

Once they have to start going to Norman, Stillwater Austin, College Station, Waco, Lubbock every year they will be exposed just like they usually are in the NCAA tournament.

The power is shifting south in sports just like it is in jobs and wealth and there is no stopping it.

I am pretty sure nobody in the North is overly concerned about coming to Norman right now. From 1983 through 1996 yes they did not like to come to Norman. Now Norman is like going to Boulder. It simply doesn't get any easier.

LOL. I'm confused. The North is better than the South. Someone let Boca know.
And someone remind him that the North doesn't only have to go to the South that they have to come to the North as well. No South team has shown the ability to win in Lawrence...until they do nothing will change. If anything playing everyone home and home gives KU an advantage.

Kansas 2nd team could beat us.

Kansas owns everyone in the conference with this change. They will continue to own everyone in the Big 12 with 10 teams. It's not going to change. Replace Kansas with Oklahoma and you are probably about right. If we continue on our current path we are the doormat of the Big 12 with 10.

I could see this actually help KU recruit in Texas. Now they can say that they will be playing an extra 3-4 games in Texas that families can come see their kids play.

If anything the 2 gimmie wins hurt everyone else more than they hurt KU.

Oklahoma State, Kansas, Mizzou, and Texas are going to be the top 4 teams in the Big 12 next year.

Texas Tech and Oklahoma will be the worst, both south teams.

Tier 1
Kansas
OSU
Mizzou
Texas

Tier 2
Texas A&M
Kansas State
Iowa State
Baylor

Tier 3
Oklahoma
Texas Tech

Yeah, it doesn't really make sense what Boca is saying but what else is new. How does this hurt KU? Now everyone has to come to Lawrence where KU rarely ever loses. Plus the South teams now have to go to KSU & Mizzou every year. Possibly the 2nd and 3rd hardest places to play in the Big 12.

Mizzou has to be foaming at the mouth, because now everyone has to go to Columbia every year. The top 5 places nobody wants to play are:

1.) Lawrence
2.) Columbia
3.) Stillwater
4.) Manhattan
5.) Ames

If ISU is talented (and they will be), nobody wants to go play at Hilton every year either.

Exactly. And lately I'd probably move Manhattan above Stillwater. Martin has those fans packing it in and rowdy as heck.

Norman is probably one of the toughest places to play if Oklahoma is as good as they have been in the last 20 years. But the problem is that right now and the way OU's going they just aren't that good and we still don't have a style to hang on to. If this continues it'll be rough for OU.

KSU lost to two unranked teams last year at home, OSU and ISU, and they lost to KU at home as well. Lost three games at home the year before, including unranked Baylor.

It may be 'rowdy', but it doesn't seem incredibly tough to win there.

This post makes me cry on the inside, especially because I can't come up with a good logical reasonable argument vs OU being in tier 3.

Since joining the Big 12 KU has had an average of 27 overall wins. Let's just pretend that they lose half of those 4 games making it a 25 win average. Under Capel OU's only had 1 25+ win season. Heck under Sampson we only had 5 with that many wins or more, and under Tubbs we only had 6. We had none before 1984. More than likely it'll change next to nothing for KU. Maybe 1 more loss a season on average if anything. KU isn't going to change they are by far the power of the conference. I'm sure they are suseptable to a down year once a decade or so. Like they were down a little right after Self came in. They had 23 wins one year, 24 another. But seriously even their down years since the Big 12 has begun are better than some of the best years OU's had since 1996. You are dreaming if you think KU is tumbling.

LOL @ the North being better than the South. 4 teams from the Big XII have been to the final 4, 3 are from the south.

Taking a micro snap shot of this season will not overcome the huge demographic shift occurring in the United States.

The same crap was said by Nebraska fans in 1996 when the Big XII was formed. Where are they now? Running away defeated.

Take a look at Nebraska/Kansas population growth since 1970, then look at Texas/Oklahoma. It's over. The fat lady is singing and Kansas will be crying just like Nebraska before long.

Dude, what's the South going to do RE: water in the future? I love OU but after I graduate, as long as my career allows it, I plan on moving back north...
