The latest from Orangebloods says A&M is being courted by the SEC and are struggling to decide between them and the Pac 10. They may be given a deadline to decide by the Pac 10 to expediate the process, and if they choose the SEC then their invite goes to either Kansas or Utah. Again, that's from Chip Brown and Orangebloods.com.

There's also rumors on Orangebloods of a potential meeting of the minds of the Big 12 this weekend in Dallas to talk about saving the conference and which two schools to potentially replace Colorado and Nebraska with.

No the meeting will be about replacing the Big 12 with other teams. For example inviting Houston, TCU, Tulsa, Memphis, BYU, Louisville, I'm just naming teams to replace the teams leaving and trying to keep whoever else is left there. Also they could be meeting to maybe have KU or Mizzou go to the PAC 10 instead of A&M if they want to be stupid and go to the SEC.

A&M to the SEC will basically end up being like Arkansas to the SEC ended up except worse because A&M really hasn't been relevant for about a decade.

sorry Nick, but that's pure hogwash IMO. ATM still has the clout to make a difference and a new conference coud be just the shot in the arm to spark them.

you really can't count out ANY major team in Texas. There are just too many excellent players there.

Exactly. The circumstances aren't really comparable. Arkansas lost its pipeline of Texas because of the university's far proximity when it left the SWC.

Obviously, A&M's pipeline that is Texas would remain intact.

Lord, I'll be upset if KU ends up in the sorry Pac whatever.

No Joke, KU should be happy to end up in any decent conference much less the pac-10,000

Why? Some of you guys just crack me up. Right now we're on the first level of this entire thing. There is going to be so much trickle down across other leagues it's not even going to be funny.
IMHO, when it's all said and done Pac-whatever will be lucky to be a top 3-4 conference. The SEC and Big 10 will expand for sure. I'm guessing 16 teams. The Big East is already better than the Pac-10. The ACC will probably do some things.

I think KU is a better fit for the Big 10 than MU. They would draw the KC market as much or more than MU.

The Big East is going to eventually be consumed by the other conferences as well. Being in a top 3-4 conference 5 years from now is pretty irrelevant because the 4 super conferences are going to be so far ahead of everyone else.

I hope not. That would suck. Now there is talks of the 4 super conferences holding their own tournament with just the schools from those 4 conferences.
Then the NCAA tourney would basically become the NIT of today.
That would be horrible. Greed is going to kill college sports if they don't watch it.

What do you mean "realistically"? Right now nobody knows anything and any conference is a possibililty. We're just at the beginning stages.

I guess I wondered if your comment was facetious. If it wasn't what would your first choice for a conference for KU be if the Big XII dissolved.

The latest rumor on OUI is that KU is going to be offered by the PAC 10.

KU would take the Pac 10 offer and be tickled pink with it! They are praying A&M goes to the SEC.

Yes, I've read two different places that Pac 10 commish Larry Scott is headed to KC right now to meet with Lew Perkins.
My choices are:
1) Big 12 stay together as is now with the same 10 and look to expand.
2) ACC
3) Big East or SEC
4) Big 12 (KU, KSU, Baylor, Mizzou, ISU) absorb the 10 Mountain West teams and then add Memphis (who reported tonight that Fed Ex would pay $10 million for a BCS conference to take Memphis.
5) Pac-10
6) Big 10
