From Rumor Central:

As we told you Wednesday, Lawrence Frank and Maurice Cheeks appear to have the most consideration for the Bulls as the team starts to head into the interview process this week.

But a new name that's emerged? Bucks assistant Kelvin Sampson.

Writes K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune: "A new name that could draw Bulls interest has emerged: Bucks assistant Kelvin Sampson, the former college coach at Oklahoma and Indiana. His work on Scott Skiles' staff has impressed."

Sampson, in some regards, has a similar temperament to Skiles -- a coach the Bulls fired a few years back.

Johnson also reports that "the Bulls wouldn't be swayed to hire John Calipari no matter how that pitch is presented."

Add that in with a similar report from Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald, and Calipari now appears to be out of the mix for the job.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kelvin Sampson as an NBA head coach. Not sure he gets, it... But best of luck to him.

I don't know about the rest of the board, but I would be very happy for him and his family. I always enjoyed his games and his style of ball, even though the majority of people did not.

Reading some stuff from Chicago fans it sounds like they don't want him. But I hope he gets one of the job openings coming up like Atlanta or NJ.

He's the biggest villain of all time to Illini fans. Events involving Eric Gordon steamed their entire fan base. Kelvin should get the job or have a fair chance but if he doesn't some of the animosity still with U of Illinois alums which includes a lot of Bulls fans might be the reason.

That would be absolutely AWESOME for Kelvin. Not bad at all for OU, either.

I can see no way how this could happen. How many IU fans live in Chicago that would revolt?

Would be about the biggest PR blunder they could dream up. It's probably a joke being played by Michigan fans to get a rise out of the IU folks.

Bulls fans wouldn't care if Kelvin was the ex head coach of Al Quaeda as long as he won.

But if he didn't win immediately that would just be added motivation to run him out of town. They would be frothing at the mouth.

Hope he gets it. If not, someone will pick him up soon enough. I always thought he would of made a better pro coach than college. Good luck to him.

He has been rumored for a head coaching job in the NBA for quite sometime. I would be thrilled if he is able to land a NBA job.

They better bring an offensive genius with him.

It's the NBA. Assistants run most of the sets in practice. A lot of the sets he ran at OU were more suited for the pro game anyways.

? lol

The WWF is a wide-open game. Kelvin's offensive philosophy of playing 2 on 5 should thrive in the NBA.

I want to see Derrick Rose's face when Kelvin gets out his ladder and attaches the bubble to the rim.
