Key to beating Baylor

All I know is, when Davis would blow by Maddie or when Maddie didn't block out, Sherri put her on the bench. Maybe that was a coincidence but I doubt it.

OU will be better when Gioya gets back healthy and in shape.

Baylor will be better when Prince returns to the lineup.

The next meeting in Norman will be interesting.

What happened to Prince and what is her situation?

I am proud of the team effort today. It is rare for me to watch the game because I live in New England, so if it isn't televised up this way, I don't get to watch.

I laud T'Ona and the second unit for their defensive presence. Kaylon didn't have a stellar game, but it is somewhat understandable. We have to have other post options against a team like Baylor. Sadly, ViVi, Treece, and EJ are not the answers there. Gabbi was good at times, as was Peyton. Both didn't play well for stretches that were too long for us to be able to take Baylor down at their house. Maddie was not a factor. We defended everyone well except Jones. Gabbi cannot guard Alexis. Period.

Had T'Ona not played in the second half, I think we would have lost by 20+. We gave them a good run.

Maddie sat because her defense was not good. Sherri was trying to find someone who could guard Davis. Unfortunately, we just don't have anyone. Not sure other teams do either.

I thought OU played really well. They just don't match up well with Jones and Davis. That was the difference. And Gabbi isn't athletic enough in this kind of game. She did shoot well from 3 point land.

I didn't get to see the game as we were engrossed in binge watching Netflix's "Making A Murderer" and I forgot to record it.

From the stats it looked like we were in one of our becoming-all-too-regular massive scoring droughts in the first half and shot our way out.

So glad to see Peyton warm up. Now do it again.

Disappointed in KayKay field goal percentage and it sounds from this board like she was, once again, missing more chips than she was hitting.

Free throws a problem again? If so, that sounds like it's turning into a big problem for the staff.

Glad to see Maddie was our second leading rebounder. I think that's a positive.

However, I keep waiting for her to show up and be the savior Syb and others have proclaimed her to be. She hasn't done it in a season and a half, and, frankly, I'm not sure she's ever going to do it.

Right now she isn't in my top 15 or 20 OU players of Sherri's tenure. Doesn't mean she won't be great though. It just means, with a year and a half left, she's running out of time.

It seems, so far this season, that leadership on the court is still a major problem.

This team, right now, reminds me more of Morgan's last season than it does a Big 12 title contender or one that will get into the second round. They just couldn't get it together.

From what I read and have seen, though, there's still a good possibility the ladies can make that leap.

We just need that one big win, perhaps over Texas or Baylor at home; something that let's the team really believe they can do it.

Sunday was a valiant effort in a hostile environment. I believe these girls can get it done.

I agree. Baylor is good and we came up a little short but there is certainly no reason for the team to hang their heads. Sooner fans should be proud of the effort today!

I was glad to see Kaylon play 31 minutes today. It would not have been good if she couldn't handle that much time.

I noticed Baylor had 3 players who played 40 minutes and 1 played 37 minutes.

Jones scored at will but let be honest she was McDonald's All American for some reasons. She showed up and when she get her legs back under her she will be tough.
OU did a good job hanging around. We need someone else to step up and score /defend.Whoever that person is will make this team better.

Completely agree from what I've read, it seems like the Ladies played hard and just came up short against a very solid team who had a star or two just go off on us.

No shame in this game. They played well, especially coming back from poor shooting first half.

I won't miss the next one.

That looks like a who's who of college basketball! One cannot help but wonder what kind of impact the retiring of Sims number, as well as the hoopla that went with that, had on those recruits. Not to mention they spent time with the number 1 player in the country who will be attending Baylor in the fall. That's why I think Baylor will win another NC within 3-5 years. They are attracting enormous talent. Not only that, but Kim can coach a little bit too. We have got to start attracting similar attention from top recruits if we have a prayer of keeping up. Texas is also attracting elite talent. I don't like third place but that is likely where we are permanently headed unless we make a huge jump in recruiting right now. I do believe the 2017 class is critical.

It was a great game and really could've gone either way and was closer than 10 points. These are the games I really enjoy 2 teams fairly evenly matched battling it out to see which player steps up. For us it was definitely Alexis but I do believe we are a completely different team with Niya on the floor. Going to be interesting to see how Nina adjusts to playing the wing instead in the paint. I think OU offense needs to run through Little and Ortiz. Both are deadly shooters from the outside and aren't afraid to take it aggressive to the bucket. Edwards was a definite eye opener with not only her speed but effort all over the court.

On a side note, I would like to share that when Odyssey's jersey was retired at halftime EVERY OU fan in attendance was standing up and applauding! That was the ultimate sign of respect and on behalf of Baylor Nation....Thank You!!

Yes they were and did you notice that Simms was wearing OU colors?
